InJanuary 2008 I booked flights to New York with NWA, travelling on October 25th for 5 days. When my husband and I arrived at Humberside airport we were told that we had been put on standby as the flight was so overbooked. We were told we would have to try to sort things out when we arrived in Amsterdam. In Amsterdam we met up with quite a lot of other people who had been put on standby. When we questioned why we were on standby when we had bought the tickets at the beginning of the year, we were told that they didnt take that into consideration. So we could have bought tickets the day before the flight and got on with no problem. In the end we did get on the flight, but some people were told they would have to wait until the next day. We started our return journey yesterday. What a nightmare! Our seats were extremely cramped, in the middle of a row of 4. So we didnt feel able to get up and go to the loo when we felt like it as it would mean climbing over someone. So for nearly 8 hours we sat, gradually getting stiffer and stiffer. Someone collapsed in the toilet, that provided a bit of inflight entertainment, because the fims on offer certainly didnt entertain us at all. The cabin crew were not the friendliest I have come across, but more than anything it was the awful seating and the feeling of being squashed into a seat for 8 hours that was the worst part of the flight. We have flown to New York with KLM before (part of the same company as NWA) but a million miles better, with excellant service, good inflight entertainment, and good meals. We would never reccommend NWA to anyone, nor will we ever fly with them again.

Advantages: High turnover of passengers, but doesnot feel as stress out as London or Paris airports Disadvantages: Lots of missing baggage lieing somewhere
Advantages: Operate an efficient service, fly to over 500 destinations via many partners, excellent customer service Disadvantages: none so far..
