Advantages: I live there! Disadvantages: I live here!

When it comes to agreeing with the signs that greet you from at least three separate points around the city, I can't. Apparently 'Norwich is a fine city'. I have no reason to doubt this, but since I've lived here for the last 31 years [HOW OLD? WHY, YOU DON’T LOOK A DAY OVER 21!!], I've nothing to compare life here ... ...that fell asleep in geography, Norwich is in East Anglia. And for those of you that don't know where East Anglia is, well, we are the sticky out bit on the right of the map of the UK. Unless of course you've got it the wrong way round, and then we are Wales!!! Picture life in 1066. And Norwich was one of the largest towns in England. Built on a, or is it in a, bend of the river Wensum, for defence purposes. In medieval times East Anglia was somewhat ...

Advantages: History. Culture. Lovely Architecture Disadvantages: A Tad Isolated
I first visited Norwich many, many, many years ago when as a ATC cadetin 305 Sdn, I spent a most enjoyable two weeks camp at the then RAF Horsham St Faith’s and still remember vividly the joys of the city. My next visit, as a young man, included a trip to Carrow Road to watch Norwich City in the FA Cup 5th or 6th Round and my most recent, which was a tour of North Norfolk including stays at Great Yarmouth and Cromer, confirmed all my boyhood ... ...an exceptionally clean city.
Norwich was founded by the Saxon “North Folk” “North Folk” later became Norfolk – at the confluence of the Yare and Wansum rivers in the 6th century. It seems the name Norwich did not appear until the 10th century, but by the time of the Norman Conquest, Norwich was the third largest city in England after London and York.
Today as you approach the “Capital of East Anglia...” ...

Advantages: Lots of History and culture. Disadvantages: Out of the way
...visit. The major roads into Norwich are the A47, A11 and A140 so access is easy from all dirsctions. There are also regular trains(from London, Nottingham, Manchester, Peterborough, Cambridge,...), buses and coaches to get you into the city, and even an Airport. As for it being small, as most people would think, it actually isn't!!. There's plenty of shops for everyone and lots to see and do too. The fact that it's not a huge city is one of it's ... ...the night time partying.
Norwich is a wonderful place if you want to combine Shopping with art. Within the city there are 2 Cathedrals - a very grand Roman Catholic one, and an historic 11th Century C of E one, a Castle, museums, many old and stately buildings, including over 30 churches, many pubs (one for each day of the year), art galleries and lots more.
As for shopping, Norwich hosts many large department stores, numerous side streets packed ...

Advantages: i live here!!! Disadvantages: you dont haha!! (for people who don't!!)
...quite happy where i am!
Norwich has a bit of everything, especially as over the last 10 years it has developed so much in the ways of making it a place for all age groups and it has become more of a tourist attraction.
For the more young, party types who love a night on the town Norwich has a selection of bars and clubs, some of my favourites include, LLOYDS (a whetherspoons pub so very cheap!),
BRANNIGANS (another pub/club for all ages),
MAXIMOS ... ...or the little village of Wroxham to go on boat tours or feed the ducks on the broads!!
So, there you go, Norwich in a nutshell!!
All in all Norwich is a fine city no matter what people think! and i wouldnt want to be anywhere else. ...
