Victoria Centre Nottingham

Advantages: -
Disadvantages: -

...the Broadmarsh Centre and the Victoria Centre, situated at opposite ends of the city centre .The Victoria Centre is the bigger of the two, containing 120 shops (not counting all the various stalls in the market area.) Getting there is easy - if you drive, there's parking for over 2700 cars . If you don't drive, don't worry - almost all the Nottingham City Transport buses stop either directly outside the Victoria Centre, or within a few minutes walk ...
...hurry, I might pop into Victoria Markets fish section and get some mushy peas from one of the stalls in there . I I have a little more time, I'll probably pop into Druckers for a nice slice of cake and a cup of tea - the food in Druckers is lovely, although the prices aren't the cheapest . Or, if I want some grease, I might nip downstairs to the KFC - although I tend to avoid this at weekends as it gets messy and overcrowded . After a spot of lunch, ...

Fancy a suck on my cock-on-a-stick ?

Advantages: =-
Disadvantages: -

...a review about Nottinghams annual Goose Fair . The fair itself dates back at least 700 years, and although there is no record of when the fair was first held, in 1284 King Edwards Charter makes reference to the fair being held in the centre of Nottingham. The fair has been held every year since, except for 1646 when it was cancelled due to the spread of bubonic plague in the area . It was also cancelled during the two world wars, which makes a lot ...
...candy floss, and the famous goose fair cock-on-a-stick . Now, I don't know of any other fair that sells this - basically, a cock (of chicken kind) made of various kinds of sickly sweet material, on a stick . Utterly sickening, and will rot your teeth, but asking for a cok with a lecherous wink is a bit of a tradition now . The fair is noisy, bright, and exciting - but it can also be a bit dangerous . If you do visit, keep a tight hold on your kids ...

Money for Old Rope?

Advantages: Excellent insight into three hundred years of crime and punishment, centrally located
Disadvantages: Layout can be a little confusing, some areas may have limited opening hours

The Galleries of Justice, in the heart of Nottingham's Lace Market is considered to be one of the town's premier visitor attractions. It is situated just a few minutes walk from the main shopping areas and is well sign-posted whether walking around town on foot, or driving into the city. There has been a court on this site since the 14th century, and there was also a prison from 1449 to house Nottingham's rogues and vagabonds. The court rooms were ...
...is also housed at the Galleries of Justice in the 1833 wing allowing further opportunity to see and experience what prison life may have been like over the last 300 years, bringing things bang up to date with the ability to peak into how cells would have looked like over the years, as well as offering insight into the changing approaches of prison attitudes from punishment to reform. Overall we had a very enjoyable time at this attraction. The tour ...

Wollaton Park - Amazing retreat from the city!

Advantages: Quiet, beautiful scenery, free entry, deer
Disadvantages: -

Wollaton Park comprises of over 500 acres, all set just minutes from Nottingham city centre - a complete surprise! The Grade 1 listed building, Wollaton Hall, set in the park, was completed in 1588. Now, visitors are welcome to visit the hall and park, and many do so each year. On entering the park, it is difficult to imagine that it is located right in the middle of such a busy, bustling city. It is a peaceful oasis, where you can stroll around ...
