I moved to Nottingham to go to University and remember being told in my first seminar that Nottingham is the City where more students stay on and get jobs after finishing their courses than any other City. I couldn't really understand why at the time, Nottingham was a bit of a culture shock after living in a small town, but by the end of my time there I didn't want to leave either. Unfortunately I don't live in Nottingham now, I had to move if I wanted to keep my job, but I wish I still did and I'll be moving back there the first chance that I get.
I can't describe what's so special about Nottingham, the shopping is brilliant, the pubs and clubs cater for each and every taste (there's even Rock City for the REALLY weird!) the restaurants and cafe's are numerous, cheap (mostly) and offer very good food. However, this is not unique and the same could be said for most big cities. There is just something about Nottingham that is totally unique, I put the popularity of Nottingham down to the Nottingham people. I have never met such friendly people, they even get along with the students! If you get the chance to visit Nottingham please do, you might see what I mean!
