I have been considering writing a review of Paris CharlesdeGaulle Airport (CDG) for some time but have refrained; worried that it may be biased by factors outside of the airports hands. However, having had an 'unforgettable' trip through the airport on a day trip a couple of weeks ago, I felt it was time to put down my opinions!
CDG is one of a group of airports around the capital city of France, along with Orly, Le Bourget and Beavaus, but is the most likely point of origin for travellers from the UK. It was opened in 1972 as Le Bourget could not cope with the demands of modern aviation and has quickly become one of the busiest and most diverse airports in the world.

We departed CharlesdeGaulle airport (Paris) to JFK on October 9, 2007. We experienced amazingly good service with the Air France agents, the information board was very helpful. Giving us the counter to start with, an organized tram trip to our Gate (65). The only thing that was long was the lines through Security.....but the modern design of CDG and good food and beautiful stores helped pass the time we waited for our flight.
We like that the arriving passengers were routed through a top tunnel and the departing passengers through lower tunnels....which kept the confusion to a minimum.
If you want a disasterous airport experience, try Jacksonville, Florida.....where the security people think they are all that.....and open everything in your luggage to make sure peanut butter isn't a "Gel".....please..... ...
