...into Reichsmark. The view from the TV Tower on the Alexanderplatz showed the true obscenity of the Wall - a great white worm sprawling around half the city. The underground map displayed in the East had large X's through the ghost stations closed because they were 'dangerously' close to the Wall. With reunification, these stations were reopened, and it is fascinating to observe their original styling.
Ten years on, and it is definitely the Eastern part of Berlin that is the happening place to be. The Old West Berlin looks tired and tawdry, whereas the up-and-coming East, now renamed BerlinMitte, bristles with restored courtyards, galleries, cool bars and stylish restaurants. Potsdamer Platz, once eerily quiet with border mines, tank traps and rabbits on the grass, is now the largest building-site I Europe.

I'm from Germany and I will write an opinion or a text about Berlin:
Berlin is the capital of Germany and it is a very nice town. Berlin is very big an has got a good Underground.
In Berlin is the Love Parade, you know. That is a very big party in the streets of Berlin with Techno music and so on.
Berlin is like London.
There are nive, good and interesting things.
London has got Madame Taussodds (that is not writing correct, but I do not know, how it will be write).
London has got a big museum with interestngs things and other good things.
Berlin has got a big park, which is nice. The park has got many trees and ways between the park.
Berlin has got an big large thing for TV (I do not know, waht is the namen of the thing). There is an restaurant in it an you can look everything in Berlin.

...Berlin is a fantistic city. Every year i visit this city and its just a great town. Many different cultures (like in london), many interessting buildings like "Potsdammer Tor" and the haus of the politicals, and the great garden in the middle of the town. This makes Berlin a very interessting city. Berlin, since 1998 the capital of Germany, is a city with a very important and famous historie. In 1989 the wall betwen east(UDSSR) and westberlin (Westgermany) did opened. This was the beginning of the new, united Berlin and united Germany between east and west.

It must be very difficult to write a guidebook. So much information on a city or country to cram into one book small enough to be convenient for tourists. The guidebooks I have read (a fair amount- I like to plan!) tend to either have lots of information more
