I have just returned from a lovely weekend break to Brussels. We booked the break through thomson cities on the internet. They organised the flights with brussels airlines, train tickets from the airport to the city centre and 3 nights at the novotel off grand place. The main train station in Brussels is literally 2 minutes walk from the hotel. If you exit the hotel from the breakfast room there is another underground entrance for the train station there so it really is conveniently located for travel to, from & around Brussels. We stayed in a lovely room on the 4th floor. The rooms are very spacious with 2 single beds pushed together. There is a separate room for the toilet and then another room with the bath/shower & sink. There is a flat screen tele with many channels including bbc news, bbc1, music channels aswell as other foreign channels. There is a wardrobe in the room when you walk in and plenty of hangers to hang your clothes up. There is a safe in the room which is free of charge as you just use your room key card to open & lock it. The room is claned daily and you are given the standard shampoo, moisturiser, shoe kit, soaps etc. On the third floor there is a small gym. It is a bright orange room and towels & water machine are provided. There is a treadmill & cross trainer in the room, aswell as a contraption where you have to pull yourself up or down. The room however is very warm even before you have started your workout. Everytime i used it there was nobody else in the room which was good. The breakfast at the hotel was exceptional. There is lots on offer including, full english i.e sausage, beans, scrambled egg etc. There are plenty of fruit juices, yoghurts, pastries, fruit, toast, waffles. The food was hot and was replenished everytime it looked like it was going down. There is a bar at the hotel but we never went in it as there are so many bars on the doorstep of the hotel. The bar is located right next to the breakfast room. The reception staff are very helpful, they looked up train times for us when we wanted to go on trips to Brugge (60min train ride), Waterloo(25min train ride) etc. Also as we had an evening flight we had to check out of our room at midday, but they happily stored our cases in a safe room, so we could carry on exploring the city on our final day. I would definitely stay in this hotel again if i went to Brussels and i would most certainly recommend it to my friends & family. The best thing about the hotel about from the service & cleanliness is the location. It is within walking distance of everywhere in Brussels. Two thumbs up from moi!
