Novotel, Chambery

Advantages: central location
Disadvantages: not luxury

...If you have ever been to Novotel in Europe, you would expect novotel hotel to be average Well the Novotel in Beijing is a totally different story, first of all the location is very very central, right at the store step of Tiannanmen Square and right next to the Oxford Street equivalent in Beijing. Secondly,the hotel entrance is certainly the grandest I have ever been in a novotel with a grand staircase and lots of fresh flowers. The rooms are only average to be honest, but if you happens to stay on the executive floors they are very pleasant and a little bit more luxury than a normal 4 star hotel in Beijing. The only complain ? The food there is only average, in fact I should say do not have a high expectation and you will feel better when you taste it! ...Having stayed in several Novotel hotels over the past couple of years, my stay in the Novotel in Birmingham January this year was pretty much the same old same old. The birmingham novotel is situated within a very short walking distance to the convention centre and the nearby theatre areas so no need to get a taxi even to go out as it is on your doorstep. The city centre shops are again within about a 10 minute walk, taking in the art museum on the way and the cascading fountains outside the museum. It is fairly easy to get to and is signposted on the last roundabout. There is parking underneath the hotel and is free for guests, another bonus for guests wishing to take in the shops as you dont need to pay extortionate parking fees elsewhere. ...The Novotel Hotel in Ghana is a classy hotel, with very clean facillities, an extremely friendly staff and conveniant to city life. They also have a well kept swimming pool, a nice outdoor area, good food, and a fitness center. Finally, Suntours travel agency has an office in the office and can make just about any Ghana tour arrangements that you desire. Business people will find that the staff is very accomodating and helpful. The computer center has both Macintosh and IBM compatible computers with internet access and staff that are assigned to the computer center. Residents of Ghana often hold meetings and events in the hotel and so it is important to book plans early. The Novotel's focus is the business market and thus you are unlikely to find in-hotel entertainment on a regular basis.... Read review
