Advantages: An extremely plush hotel! Disadvantages: Although it's in the centre, it's still a walk to the main square.
...inside!) It has the normal Novotel theme of silver finishings and a blue and gold theme with comfy gold seats in the reception and marble tiles throughout! The entrance to the hotel is facing a main road but there's a lay-by area to park your car while you unload your luggage. It's a grand entrance with all glass doors and doorman to welcome you. As you first go in, your faced with the sleek reception and gift shop on your left where you can by magazines ... ...Another nice touch by the Novotel staff is the chocolates on your pillow which you get when you go back to your room at the end of the night. Also the bed is 'turned down' ready for you to get in! I'm a personal lover of the little things in life so it really made my day the first time i walked into the room after a long night to see the little treats on my pillow!

** The hotel **
The hotel is really modern (i don't know whether it's a modern building, but it's modern inside!) It has the normal Novotel theme of silver finishings and a blue and gold theme with comfy gold seats in the reception and marble tiles throughout! The entrance to the hotel is facing a main road but there's a lay-by area to park your car while you unload your luggage. It's a grand entrance with all glass doors and doorman to welcome you. As you first go in, your faced with the sleek reception and gift shop on your left where you can by magazines in a variety of languages and all the other essentials like postcards! To the left of the reception is a seating area with lift and stairs behind leading down to the indoor swimming pool and fitness centre and then to the underground secure parking. If you decide not to go to the fitness area quite yet you can proceed pass the seating area and take a take a drink in the quiet bar with really comfy chairs or go to the spacious restaurant where you can try some of the local cuisine.
** The rooms **
I stayed in a family room (two single beds and a double bed). It wasn't the biggest hotel room i've stayed in but all the same it was big enough for a family of four. It was spotlessly clean (as with all Novotels) and there were all the essentials like tea and coffee, plus a safe, slippers and sewing kit! The bathroom again was clean and had free shampoo and shower gel to use. It also had massive mirrors and a hairdryer so you really couldn'y ask for more! I only stayed in a family room so i can't tell you about the suites but if they're like the rest of the hotel, i'm sure they're pretty respectable!
** Cleaning **
The rooms were cleaned every day by friendly maids. If you didn't want your room cleaned, you just had to put a door handle tag on the outside of the door saying don't clean the room. Also, Novotels have an economical washing policy where they will only wash your towels if they're on the floor in the bathroom - if they're anywhere else, they assume you don't need them cleaning. I think this is great thinking as it saves water etc!
** The staff **
The staff are the most friendly staff you could want! They all say hello when passing you (even if they can't speak English like the maids for example) and they generally give a welcoming feel to the hotel atmosphere. The waiters and waitresses in the restaurant always ask to see how the meal is and if you want more drinks etc and it's just the right amount, they don't hover round like bees at a honeypot but they make their presence known so you've always got everything you need.
** The welcome **
When you pull up in your car outside the hotel doors a bell boy comes out and greets you, then takes your luggage and puts it on one of those gold trolley things and you don't see it again until you go up to your room. It's the little things like that that make the hotel what it is! When you go to the reception, the receptionists have badges with the flags of the languages they can speak so there's no language barrier! Once they've checked you in, they tell you where your room is and you're free to enjoy your stay!
** Chocolates on your pillow! **
Another nice touch by the Novotel staff is the chocolates on your pillow which you get when you go back to your room at the end of the night. Also the bed is 'turned down' ready for you to get in! I'm a personal lover of the little things in life so it really made my day the first time i walked into the room after a long night to see the little treats on my pillow!
** Location **
The hotel is in the centre of Krakow and faces a beautiful river and the Wawel which is a famous historic landmark in the city. Although it's in the centre, it's still about a five minute walk to the main square where you find all the restaurants and night life. The hotel does provide a free bus service to the square but it's a nice walk anyway and exercise is always good!
** Price **
The prices range from about 70 euros to 140 euros and it can often be fully booked in peak times of the year (summer and christmas) To check availability and book, visit novotel.com.
** Conclusion **
I couldn't recommend this hotel enogh for value for money and service. It's a very modern and well laid out hotel with friendly staff - you're literally waited on hand and foot! If you're going to Krakow, stay at this Novotel! - 10/10
...this hotel. have stayed in novotel hotels before so i knew what to expect!! firstly the name! CENTRUM that would lead you to believe that it is centrally located! then think again! it is a good 15min walk ,which ok is nothing! (and the hotel is in a beautiful setting near the river) but when you start exploring this beautiful city, you do not realise just how much walking you will do!!!! There is a tram stop just across the road and 2 stops you are ... ...tram back, where it drops you off you are on like an intersection which is very busy, and unless you use the underpasses( there are 2, one being along side the river, the other by a supermarket, okay during the day but i would be a bit cautious at night! there were some drunks around!) you can always play frogger with the road (i kid you not!!) Back to the hotel itself well we requested an non smoking room! got there was asked smoking or non smoking! ...
