just come back from a 4 night stay at this hotel. have stayed in novotel hotels before so i knew what to expect!!
firstly the name! CENTRUM that would lead you to believe that it is centrally located! then think again! it is a good 15min walk ,which ok is nothing! (and the hotel is in a beautiful setting near the river) but when you start exploring this beautiful city, you do not realise just how much walking you will do!!!!
There is a tram stop just across the road and 2 stops you are in the centre! thats fine but when you get the tram back, where it drops you off you are on like an intersection which is very busy, and unless you use the underpasses( there are 2, one being along side the river, the other by a supermarket, okay during the day but i would be a bit cautious at night! there were some drunks around!) you can always play frogger with the road (i kid you not!!)
Back to the hotel itself well we requested an non smoking room! got there was asked smoking or non smoking! told them non! the reply was smoking only!!! what was the point of asking in first place??? Got to the room which over looked the front of hotel and a busy road! but when the window was closed you couldn't hear much!The room was very clean and modern, had a mini bar which we just managed to fit a couple of beers from the supermarket in!!
Had to complain that the tv was not working (had to do this several times!) in the end asked for a different tv. Also was in a family room was not enough towels or cups etc which were brought up straight away then taken back the next day???? (ended up having to leave housekeeping messages to leave the extra cups etc)
The so called air condition was a joke! so the room was uncomfy at night!
The pool etc was lovely and clean!!! fresh towels so you do not have to pack any! the pool itself was chilly, lovely sauna, and a jacuzzi, the changing room was clean except when i was changing a male member of staff came in without knocking first!! (he was very sorry) but i was very cautious after that!
Breakfast was good! and i mean good!! the best selection of juices i have ever seen! fresh fruit cocktail,pieces of fruit, yogurts,cereals,breads, crisp breads, rice cakes for those on a diet! bacon, egg, sausage pancakes,for those who love their food!
Never ate in the restaurant! nor had a drink in the bar! the prices were 3 times as expensive as in the town! did not see many places to eat or drink around the hotel! there was a pub across the road but when we went it was closed because of easter!
All in all i did enjoy my stay at this hotel! the staff were helpful and couldn't do enough to help! one thing i did like was the left luggage, which they tag, and give you a stubb which you hand back before they give you your cases back! and of course it is kept locked!
If they could move this hotel to the centre as the name suggests it would of been perfect!
