Novotel London Heathrow, West Drayton

Advantages: Close to airport and shuttle bus runs frequently
Disadvantages: Bad service, dated rooms

...I've stayed at this hotel as I attended an event held in the conference centre. Parking was difficult, mainly because this hotel offers a park and stay facility for Heathrow Airport and after driving around each area of the car park we ended up parking at the side of the exit road. It was good job that we stayed on site for the time we were there as I wouldn't have fancied my chances at parking up again if we left and came back. When we checked in we were told that a pre-authorisation charge would be put on the account until we checked out. This is fair enough, obviously they don't want people charging items to their room and not paying, but our pre-authorisation charge was £400 - nearly three times what our total bill would be. ...I had decided to treat my mother to a weekend break in London and upon researching various hotels on the internet chose the Novotel Euston (formerly Bernard Shaw Plaza). The cost was £79 for a twin en-suite including full english breakfast for two which I thought was very reasonable. Upon arrival we were very impressed with the exterior and interior of the hotel, the staff were extremely helpful and courteous. The hotel has a panoramic lift which if you take up the the sixteen floor has wonderful views of London, including the London Eye and Canary Wharf . The room itself was spacious and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We ordered room service for Saturday supper which was brought up promptly, average cost of a meal was £13 and the food was superb. Menu offers a good choice on British and International... Advantages: It's relatively cheap to stay in the room, so it's not all too bad.
Disadvantages: The staff, the prices in the restaurant, I know it's London, but I was shocked

...Here is the review: When we decided to book our trip to New York for my 18th we knew the only way to really get to London, was by National Express. Only one of us drives and that person doesn?t feel safe on motorways. The National Express journey was terrible, but when we booked the package, we also booked a hotel called Comfort Inn. We were quite shocked when we were dropped outside of Terminal 5, to then have to wait about 20 minutes for another bus to get to the hotel. I myself was quite shocked to find that the trip took about 20 minutes to get to the Comfort Inn; I thought it would have been on the doorstep of Heathrow, but apparently I was very naive in this aspect. I truthfully thought that when we got to the airport, we?d drag our suitcases around the corner and then ta da, we?ll be at the hotel. This is my own fault... Read review
