Novotel Lotus, Bangkok

Check-in is swift and pleasant, and not to ruin the surprise but the orange liquid you're offered as a complementary drink by one of the beautiful ladies is carrot juice, surprisingly nice!

On arriving in the big bustling city of Bangkok, a taxi is normally the first requirement. After driving what seems no time after the flight, you arrive at the Novotel Lotus. On first appearance, the road it's situated on seems a bit downhill, and you won't even notice the hotel until you're driving into it. After stopping outside the front doors, you'll barely have time to say "wow this is nice" when your taxi door will be opened from the other side by one of the many men with hats (can't remember their true name ha-ha).Your bags will be taken and all doors opened for you into the cool interior of the Novotel Lotus. The lobby, with excellent water features, has a relaxing feeling and you must be careful not to sit down to long, with the fear of falling asleep. Depending on what type of room you've ordered will determine what you think of it, but my standard room was brilliant. A man with a hat will soon arrive with your luggage and if you're into football will probably be able to name every single footballer in the premiership. Don't know why by the people of Bangkok love football, and you have to be careful not to get into to a deep conversation with them.
After a look round the hotel, you'll notice the pool is on the same level as the restaurant, very convenient, with the restaurant having some of the best prices around. If you're not into the food over there, a pizza place is just opposite, and a subway is down the road to your right and then left.
The men with hats are very polite and respectful, sometimes a lot more than you would think. They'll thank you for everything, always ask if they can help, never enter a lift that you're already in and the guards will even salute you as you leave the hotel.
If you're looking for fun in Bangkok, you're not going to miss out. Of course this depends on what type of fun you're looking for. And this brings me on to my next point. This may be a bit of a heavy scene for a young child, and you may actually want to avoid Bangkok altogether. Now that I've said that I can also say that it really isn't that bad. People aren't having sex in the street, you can just see that it's going on, but a young child probably would just think "Wow, those girls are dressed up nicely" and neither are they malicious. If they see a child they won't approach you, or even hint at you. Even prostitutes are polite in Bangkok! I'm a teenager and when I walked into a bar, I pulled of as being older and therefore they were a bit more friendly, but that's it. If they can get you to buy them a couple of drinks, their sorted.
That's about it. If you want a good quality hotel perfect for 20-25 year olds and great for everyone else, this has got to be the best. Don't be fooled by the 3 stars, I give it 5.
