Advantages: Very clean. Large spacious rooms with sofa. Well decorated. Pool and sauna. Huge bed. Very friendly bar staff. Great food. Disadvantages: Advertised on website that they are a mile from Milton Keynes station. Considerably longer. Needed to get a cab. Small towels. Tricksy pay to view. No mini bar. Odd little cupboard toilet. Tiny towels. Poor reception staff. Pool closed by 11pm.
I needed to spend a night in MiltonKeynes as my wife and I were travelling up from London to see a show at the theatre then going further north the next morning. Manage to get quite a good deal at lastminute.com, only £49.00 for one night, based on a room only fee.
After a hectic journey up to MiltonKeynes by coach due to rail engineering I was disappointed to find that the hotel is not within walking distance from the station, even though it claims to be only a mile. It costs £3-£5 in a cab depending whether you are travelling from the city centre or the station.
The hotel seems quite modern, pretty characterless from the outside as most business hotels seem to be.

Stayed at the Ramada Encore on 04/12/08. This is a very modern hotel within walking distance of the city centre and within easy reach of the M1. Situated in the "Hub", this is a devlopment of offices, hotels, bars, restaurants and shops including Nando's, Ha Ha bar & grill, Starbucks,and much more. MK shopping centre is also withing walking distance ith over 250 shops. I found this hotel whilst browsing on Xscape MiltonKeynes website, this hotel was recomended by them. A discounted rate of curently 20% is offered off the price of the room (buffet breakfast also included) if you have either ski/snowboarding lessons or recreational ski timebooked at the snowdome.
