Lakeside

Advantages: Has everything
Disadvantages: Sore feet and stressful on Saturday

Living only 25 minutes away from Lakeside, since the first day I can remember it?s the only place I would go if I want to go shopping. There are other places which are about 15 minutes from me but they are not as easy to park in, totally sheltered and they do not have such a range of shops. Lakeside, as many of you probably already know is a shopping mall located in Thurruck and it has been around longer than I can remember, the mall itself is located in the middle of a retail park also, making the shopping experience an even bigger one, there is something for everyone here. What is there? The main part of Lakeside is obviously the mall which is filled to the brim with over 250 shops, clothes shops for all ages and styles, furniture, electrical, jewellery, books, everything. Also Lakeside has an eating court for hungry shoppers ...

"Pokarekare ana Nga wai o Rotorua" - ROTORUA, New Zealand

Advantages: Somewhere very diiferent, Maori culture, boiling mud and geysers
Disadvantages: the smell was a little off putting, Maori evening was awful

ROTORUA: Rotorua is on the North island of New Zealand almost in the middle about three hours drive from Auckland and six from Wellington. We stayed at the Sudima Hotel right beside Lake Rotorua and as we got off the bus the interesting sulphur smell of Rotorua greeted us. It is quite a strong rotten egg sort of smell that gets in to everywhere. I didn?t find it too revolting but others in our group found it very over powering and complained constantly that it even pervaded the air-conditioning in the rooms. The town is quite small enough to walk around the main sights, the lovely steaming lake and the park alongside it and all the way to Ohinemutu. On our first evening we went to the Tamika Maori evening ( see separate review on this one) TE PUIA ? THE NEW ZEALAND MAORI ARTS AND CRAFTS INSTIRUTE: The next day we were up ...

A Big Day At The Sheffield Novotel!

Advantages: Excellent Food, Central Location.
Disadvantages: Poor Bar Service, Limited Parking.

When one of my best friends got married yesterday (Sunday 19th December 2005) the location that she chose was the Novotel in Sheffield. This location was chosen for the entire day, which included the Civil Wedding at 2.30pm, the meal afterwards at 4pm and the evening reception which started at 7.30pm. The first thing that I will say before I begin this review is that I live less than a 5 minute walk away from this Hotel, which is conveniently situated right in the middle of the city centre, so I didn't actually stay here. This review is therefore based on my own opinions as seen from a non paying guest. My friend was staying at the Novotel (with her sister) on the Saturday night as well as her Wedding night the following day so I first went to this Hotel on Saturday night for a pre wedding drink. FIRST IMPRESSIONS The Novotel ...
