Refurbished hotel 2km from Warsaw airport 5km from town centre 1 bar 1 restaurant 1 outdoor swimming pool Fitness centre Conference room Outdoor parking Glass elevator!!!!
** Hotel description **
The hotel is located on the outskirts of Warsaw city centre and has recently been refurbished. I don't know what it was like before but it's really plush now - everything is tiled and has a silver theme throughout. It has two glass elevators which look out onto the city centre - they give spectacular views (especially at night when everything is lit up!) The rooms are adequate size for a family of four (two adults and two children), there's on double bed and two single 'put-up' beds. The rooms are extremely clean and have all the neccessities like coffee, tea and shampoo etc. The hotel has a swimming pool but it's outdoors so won't be warm in the winter but in the summer it was a refreshing treat. Other than the swimming pool, the outdoors doesn't have much else to offer than a car park and small restaurant patio but with a thriving city on your doorstep, that's not a problem. Other amenities the hotel has is a conference centre (which i didn't use but look quite nice!) and a bar and restaurant. The food in the restaurant was very tastey and but the menu was typically Polish with lots of meat dishes, so it's hard to find something for everyone. Also, the bar and restaurant prices were a tad on the high side so i recommend the city centre for dinner and a night cap!
** The staff **
What can i say? The staff were really friendly (even the cleaners who said hello every morning!) All of the 'frontline' staff (barman and receptionists etc) could speak English and the receptionists wore badges showing the flags of the languages they could speak (I thought that was nice touch!)
** Service **
You're waited on hand and foot (well not literally but the service is pretty good!) If you need anything, just ask at reception and it's done pretty much instantly, or they take care of it while you're out and when you go back to your room - it's done!
** Location **
As i said before, the hotel is loacted 5km from the city centre so it's quite a way out but there's a bus stop right on the doorstep with rock bottom prices and if you have a hire car, it's not a problem anyway because you can easily find somewhere to park in the centre.
** Prices **
There are two Novotel's in Warsaw, one in the centre and this one. The one in the centre is more expensive so this one's the one for me! Prices range depending on the time of year but £70 is a good average and breakfast is an extra £5 but sometimes it's included.
** So why stay at a Novotel? **
Well Novotel's aren't the cheapest hotel in Warsaw (or anywhere else for that matter) but we chose to stay with Novotel because we were going to a strange city so staying with a familar hotel where we knew the service was good was vital. At least with Novotel you know what you're getting before hand so you don't need to worry!
** Conclusion **
A highly recommended, modern hotel with helpful and friendly staff. It's in a good location and isn't too expensive. - as with all Novotel's 10/10!!!!

Warsaw is the most expensive place to stay in Poland and frankly there is less to see there than in most other places in Poland, which is a large country. This doesn't sound bad value to me, we spent ages in 2001 trying to find a room for a couple of nights there for less than £70 per night. Oh yes the date was 11th September 2001 too! I'll never forget Warsaw or where I was on 9/11! Richard.
