Advantages: Rural, friendly, lots of varied tourist attractions

...Steiermark offers all sorts for people to do. As well as Graz, home to some of Austria's premier Football teams, there is a great deal to do. The Weinstraße down towards the border with Slovenia is well worth visiting in October, and the atmosphere is very convivial. Up in the north of Steiermark there are some great ski resorts, including Schladming and Haus, and there is cheap skiing available from November - April. In the far west there is the Murtal, a rural idyll, and renound for its Tourism. Rail connections are excellent. Direct trains go from Graz to Vienna every other hour and are nearly always on time, and Leoben, Judenburg, Zeltweg, Knittelfeld, Brück an der Mur, and Murzzuschlag are all on the mainline to Vienna and Italy in the other direction. Advantages: Great city for a weekend break or even more
Disadvantages: can be quite hot in summer

..., but are some mystery tours available in Vienna, mainly walking below the ground in the extensive sewerage system. If you have seen the film „The Third Man“ with Orson Wells, this gives you a good idea of how Vienna was when it was split into four zones (USA, UK, France and Soviet Union) from 1945 to 1955, and when Vienna was the centre of spies from East and West during the Cold War. If you have not yet seen „The Third Man“, try to get hold of the video. The mystery tours follow the places shown in this film. Y Youth Hostel The Youth Hostel at Wilhelminenberg is situated next to a fine palace on a hill in the woodland area (Wienerwald), overlooking the whole of Vienna - a magnficent view. Advantages: Nice and interesting places to visit

...The only think that I can remeber when I was in Vienna 4 years ago were, the music, scenery and the Danube river. I remember spending the entire afternoon, just sitting down in an open place and enjoy the orchestra at the same time sipping my wine. It was such an enjoyable day. In the night I will spend mt time walking along Danube river. It was like a fiesta along the river. Where you will see row and rows of stall selling local and foreign food and alcohol. It is just like a party by the famous Danube river. Imagine spend you days like that for 4 days. Isn't it enjoyable. Vienna I will be back.... Read review
