It's easy to assume that Dubai is all bunched up at the creek end of the typical Map that you get in the tourist guides; not so! Dubais attractions are spread far and wide from the famous Madinat Jumeriah to the old town district of Deira.

The Novotel is central to everything!

If you are a business traveller and need access to the world trade center/ exhibtion center then there is only one other hotel which is as close and that is the ibis. Novotel actually has direct access into the Exhibition centre next to hall 8.

The rooms are on a par with the high end 4 stars that you will find in London and the service is impecable. Services include.

Internet access (Chargable)

Although the location is central you will invariably need a taxi to go anywhere as Dubai is not a foot friendly city. That said taxi's are cheap enough with most places reachable for about 35dhs.

Emirates mall and ski centre ( 30dhs taxi, 20 minutes)
Deira (25dhs taxi, 15 minutes)
Marina ( 20dhs taxi, 10 minutes)

Bear in mind that if you are looking for a beach front hote this is not the hotel for you. There is an excellent pool on site which due to the type of traveller i.e. business, is quiet most of the day.

The breakfast is awesome, if you are on a budget then get the all you can eat buffet and you won't need to eat anymore than that. Omlettes and pancakes cooked to order, range of pastries, english breakfast as well as some traditiona arab mixes making this all you can ask for.

The conceierge desk is more than helpful and will set you up with whatever trip excursion, actuvity you wish.

Check in is from 2 although if you arrive early they will do everything they can to accomodate you earlier, which in my case was actually 3 hours earlier.

I would say that this hotel isn't a family friendly venue, due to the prodominantly business clientel you may not feel at home with children in tow.

All in all a very clean well presented hotel in the right location will all the facilities you should need to have a good time in Dubai.
