After spending three nights here recently, I have a lot of good things to say about this hotel. Although finding it was a bit difficult due to the lack of signposts (not a big issue with sat navs nowadays!), when I had arrived I was extremely satisfied with all that the hotel had to offer. Sitting on the river front that runs through York, views from certain rooms are very pleasing, especially on a lovely summers day!
Upon arriving I was greated by a modern look of sofas, lighting and furniture and a family playing on a Nintendo Wii in the foyer! The staff were extremely pleasant and checking in was easy. For the price, the double bed room was fantastic, with flat screentelevision with the option of having entertainment at the touch of a button, internet, films and music. The room had a very comfortable sofa to watch the tv on and the room itself was very spacious and big. The bathroom was very modern with bath and shower, and the whole feel of the room felt clean and of a very high quality.
The hotel boasts a swimming pool, bar, restaurant and seating area for reading, playing the nintendo wii or whatever you fancy. This is definitely a great hotel when looking for either a stop off on a work trip, or for a great family break, which ever one you want, this hotel is perfect! As York is such a lovely place I only used the restaurant for breakfast, which was very nice, including both hot and cold options, all of which are of a high standard. The swimming pool is on the small side but is still useful for taking the kids down to for some fun or just to relax and the bar satisfies all your needs when looking for good starting point for an evening out in York.
Only 10 minutes walk from the centre of York and its Coppergate Shopping Centre and all of its other tourist attractions and 20 minutes walk from York Station, the Novotel York is a superb hotel when looking for accommodation. Although cheap, it provides high quality facilities and the rooms are fantastic. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking to book a trip away to York as it is great value for money. I will defeinitely be going back there soon.

Good review - shame your sat nav had trouble with it! (I'm terrible - I could get lost in a paper bag! - so I need loads of signposts, otherwise I get lost.) Sounds really welcoming.
