As a native New Yorker, I am always busy, hungry, and rude :) I look for places that accomodate my schedule and pocketbook and Nyonya always fits the bill. There are two locations in NYC - Manhattan and Brooklyn - so whenever I get the hankering, there it is! The food couldn't be more fabulous - start with the roti canai ($2). It looks like a small dish, with an inflated pancake and curry goo, but it's quite filling - I could probably get away with ... ...My favorite dish after the canai appetizer when I'm really hungry is the curry beef casserole for entree; to say that the curry sauce is fabulous would be an understatement. A coconut-based curry dish, it is distinct from other curries (e.g. chicken tikka masala). The beef curry is nothing if not extraordinary and I am now thoroughly addicted to this dish.
