The Oasis Golf Resort can only be described as perfect for a holiday retreat. As soon as you enter the complex you are greeted by the most helpful of staff and the most beautiful of surroundings. The reception area is lushly deisgned complete with chirping birds. Within this area is a very secure safety deposit system where you can be assured our precious belongings are safe. This is at a nominal cost. A lovely bar also awaits you in this area leading through into the restaurant. The complex is self-catering but the food in the restaurant is of high quality, with a good level of choice and at a reasonable price. Drinks are also reasonably priced.
Moving on through the reception and you are greeted by the wonderful sight of a large family orientated swimming pool complete with jacuzzi area and separate kids pool. The place just oozes fun. There are lots of sun loungers, but also lots of people so getting one can sometimes be a problem (but isn;t that the case in most places?) Moving up towards the accommodation a great feeling of being in a little holiday village greets you. The accommodation is laid out in a row-like street pattern but be prepared for lots of steps! They are on a steep hill! Even this is worth it though. We were right up at the back and the views were great.
The apartment itself was fantastic. On entering you are in the living area where there is an exceptionally well-equipped kitchen, a living area complete with table and chairs, coffee table, sofa, breakfast bar and chairs and satellite TV. There is a balcony also with its own table and chairs. Moving downstairs and there is your sleeping ares with a lovely big bed and plenty of cupboard space. The bathroom is also very well equipped incuding a haridryer. The bedroom leads out onto a small patio area with sunloungers, perfect for reading that book and relaxing in the excellent tranquillity. Within the accommodation village the flowers and trees are beautiful and there are many fountains and chirping birds. The whole complex is spottless and the maid service is excellent. Family rooms are available and these, I have been told, have roof terraces with fantastic views. Unfortunately the rooms are not airconditioned and I found the heat very uncomfortable at night. There is a fan in the bedroom and in the loving room but this just spreads the warm air around!
Another disadvantage of the hotel is the card payment system. Instead of carrying cash (which I suppose is good) you carry a payment card. You can put money on it and it will be debited as you use it. Unfortunatly you don't have a choice and money cannot be used on the complex. It makes it a bit difficult to keep track of your spending!
The hotel is well equipped with 2bars and a minimarket. There is also a kids club and various things to keep the kids amused. There is a definate family feel to this place but that did not stop me and my boyfriend having a fantstic time.
The location of the hotel is ideal. It is about 5mins in a taxi (which costs about £3-4) into the centre of Las Americas. This allows you to have fun in the busting centre but retreat to the luxury of you surrounings any time you want. Overall, I had a great time and the advantages of this place definately outweighed the slight disadvantages. I wouldn't hesitated to recommend the place.
