Occidental Allegro Agadirir, Agadir

Advantages: Lovely hotel with great facilities
Disadvantages: Doesn't have it's own beach

...My boyfriend and I took a week long holiday to Port El Kantaoui in Tunisia in May 2008. The Occidental Allegro Riviera Hotel is a 4 star hotel. We mainly booked this holiday just to have a cheap, chilled out week in the sunshine. We also wanted a fairly short haul flight and we felt that Tunisia would be perfect for this. Travel Time from The UK We flew from London Gatwick and our flight took 2 and a half hours which was lovely as I am used to really long haul flights. The Occidental Allegro Riviera is located about a 40 minute bus journey from the airport, with a few other drop offs included on the way. Our transfers were included in the price of the holiday. ...As a couple we had been recommended the Dominican Republic as a lively and friendly place to visit for our August 2003 hols. We choose carefully through several travel agents and First Choice won out as being the friendliest and least pushy! The resort of Occidental Allegro is one of many beach side resorts in Playa Dorada along the atlantic sea front ; Don't let this put you off as sea was warm and calm every day ( well it was august) AIRLINE: Travelled on an AIR 2000 plane and this was the only let down of the whole holiday as stewartdesess were very un helpful and seemed to positively un-friendly .Not what you want on an 10 hour flight! ...was accepted with open arms. A tip for flights, try to ask for a seat away from the wings, there is noticably less room - I'm only 5.7, but I found it a bit of a crush - It was agreed next holiday that we would pay the extra £15 for extra leg room. Anyway the flight went well, the staff were friendly if a little unorganised. Once landed in Agadir airport, were ferried into the Arrivals lounge, where we queued to get stamped in. Our Panorama rep was there to greet us, a very helpful man named Hassan, who reminded me slightly of the policeman of "Allo Allo". We were given a porter to take our bags to the bus, where we were promptly told by himself to give him english money - the tone of things to come.
