I traveled with my girlfriend to Cabo from Sept. 23-30 to celebrate my big 4-0. After doing alot of research, I decided on this baby and overall, I have no regrets. I toured some of the other hotels nearby and I knew I made the right decision. The only negative we encountered was the daily drilling near the pool (they were upgrading the tiles around the pool area). They started drilling each morning at 10am and continued for several hours - it was impossible to sit on our balcony or lay by the pool and relax. Fortunately, the sister hotel is right next door and we enjoyed laying by their quiet pool. I noticed that other nearby hotels were also doing maintenance on their properties so each hotel had their own little quirks. We talked to the manager about the annoying drilling and all he could say was "sorry". And it didn't seem sincere. Whoa!!! The view from was amazing - a million dollar view. We also enjoyed swimming in the gorgeous beach (which was very swimmable). The local "businessmen" walking the beach left us alone after we told them "no" and they didn't bother us after that. We always said "no" to the timeshare people and they left us alone as well. It is very expensive to eat in Cabo - be prepared to shell out $50 for breakfast, $50 for lunch and over $100 for dinner for 2 people each day. We found the markets didn't negotiate their prices as much as other Mexican tourist towns. The "businessmen" were willing to let you walk away because they knew another customer would buy their merchandise a few minutes later. We also hung out at Cabo Wabo one night - we heard a cool band but I don't remember their name. We called them the "Mexican Bon Jovi". One thing I noticed about Cabo Wabo - it stunk like a sewer and we noticed a sewer close to the entrance (inside the club). Incredible - c'mon Sammy - gotta do something about this. Yikes!!! We always felt safe in Cabo, the locals spoke English pretty well, they were friendly and the locals all came from somewhere else. I didn't see anyone begging on the streets and the locals looked well fed. Cabo is a relatively "new" town and very few people actually come from Cabo. They come to Cabo to work and they come from all over their country. Cabo is a very expensive resort town and the tourists were pretty well-off financially and I didn't notice any riff-raff floating around. Since there are so many beautiful places to visit around the world, my policy is to never visit the same place twice. I liked Cabo alot but I won't be back. One additional recommendation - use Terramar for your roundtrip airport transfers and specifically request Eduardo as your driver - he's an older gentleman who is highly educated. He drives his personal Chevy Suburban with ice cold air conditioning and he knows alot about the area and he educated us on the local fauna and flora, landscape, history, etc of the region. Great guy!!! One more thing - we had the most gorgeous weather - perfect every day!!!!
