Advantages Advantages Fantastic animals & animal shows

Disadvantages Disadvantages Really difficult to navigate, death trap of a cable car

We went to Hong Kong in January 2009. We were on our Honeymoon and spent a few days here before flying off to Malaysia. We tried to fit in as much as we could whilst there and one of the things we did was take a visit to Ocean Park. So how did we get there? Ocean Park operates its own bus service from the central bus terminal loacted next to a central metro station. It is really easy to get around on the metro, so no problem at all getting to the bus. Cost At the bus teminal we had the option to pay for a return bus journey and entry into the park. We chose this option for ease and because it ... more

Advantages Advantages A fantastic park full of fun and Chinese culture

Disadvantages Disadvantages Takes you a while to get round the park it's so huge

Ocean Park is a fantastic theme park and zoo to visit in Hong Kong. On our week stay in Hong Kong we wanted to visit one of the theme parks and went for Ocean Park over Disneyland as we'd been to Disneyland Paris and fancied something with a little bit more Chinese culture in it. The park is absolutely huge and is located on a headland on the south tip of the west side Hong Kong Island and is split by a mountain separating two sides of the park. There are so many things to do including big thrill rides, small rides for children, spectacular shows, or visit all the animals. Marine Land An ... more

Advantages Advantages A fun-filled day out, educational as well as entertaining

Disadvantages Disadvantages Long walks and queues can be lengthy

Whenever we are on holiday in Hong Kong, we are sure to visit Ocean Park. It costs about £16 for an adult (half price for child) but via a promotional offer we paid less than twelve quid for a ticket. The theme park is split into two parts, and these are connected by a cable car ride system. The Lowlands - which is where the main entrance is situated - is where the Giant Pandas can be seen. I only saw An An this time around, so I have yet to see the new arrivals Le Le and Ying Ying. But the disappointment of the day was that lunch at the Boardwalk Cafe was pretty poor. Should have went to the ... more

Advantages Advantages Good place for family

    Disadvantages Disadvantages No

The only theme park that can be rival to the Disneyland is the Ocean Park. I still remember how excited I was on my first visit as a little girl with my parents. I went there a few more times for school trips and it has become part of my childhood memory. I enjoyed it every time I was there. It is a very education theme park, very suitable for families. The park is divided into 2 parts. The entrance is on the lower side, where the gardens and the Giant Panda Habitat are. It is also the home to the famous pandas An An and Jia Jia. The main part/upper side contains most of the attraction and can ... more
