The Oceanarium in Lisbon has been on my must-see list for years. When my Portuguese friend Theresa told me there were plans to build a mega-aquarium for the 1998 World Expo, we vowed that I would visit Lisbon and we would go see the fishies. Of course, life moved on and I forgot all about it until last Friday. Like a good ciaoster with her passport in her pocket I checked out what there was to see in Lisbon and was reminded about ... ...locals taking the sun. The Oceanarium is set amongst acres of picnicking families and kids playing in the park. To one side the cable car whizzes along the waterfront. You can get the metro out to the park - there's lots of transport infrastructure put in place for the Expo. You have no excuse not to go.
The Oceanarium was of major symbolic importance for the Expo. Lisbon's history and glory is closely associated with the sea and the Oceanarium ...

Quick review of Oceanarium Review ofOceanariumby
Birgitta
This was great. We spent 2 hours there and looked at everything. Not even the 3 year old boy got bored. Felt good to go there when the heat outside was over 40 dergrees. The sharks and all the other fish was great to watch. They really showed waterlife from the hole world. Don't miss it. 25 euros for family.

Advantages: Fun for everyone old and young Disadvantages: Have not found any yet
...I have lost count of the times that I have been to Bournemouth, I have been in every season Spring Summer Winter and Autumn and there is so much to do for every age group at every time of the year.
The Oceanarium on the Sea front is a must on a rainy day, next to that you have the World Famous Harry Rambsdens to go for lunch, you have then got around 7miles of glorious sand that is always clean, if you are not a beach lover there is enough shops to keep you going for days, then you could always catch the bus into Poole or Boscombe or Christchurch. You are on the doorstep of the New Forest, brilliant for picnics or long walks.
After all that if you are a night person you will find some of the best night clubs in England in and around Bournemouth.
If you get bored in Bournemouth there must be no pleasing you....

...Bournemouth, that was probably the best place I ever went to on holiday there are so many places to see and so much to do. A ferry trip and a short drive away is the stunning studland beaches the sand is soft and warm and the sea blue and relitavily clear, an unusual sight around there. The nearby village of Christchurch is cultural beautiful religous and fun the shops are interesting and the food delicous. In Bournemouth however there is the oceanarium a superb display of sealife from around the world. There is also the BIC (bournemouth International Center) has a range of activities such as swimming. The pool has features such as a wave generator and a water slide. The shopping facilities are exelent and the cafes the same. So if you were concidering coming to bournemouth then i would definately go. The town and the surrounding area...

Advantages: Loads of everything, with lots of other places nearby to visit too. Disadvantages: Not for people who want to go clubbing every night (alltough it is only a few miles to bournemouth and its clubs).
...Want to visit one of the best beaches in England? Poole has a great beach. Better than Bournemouths who got there sand from Poole harbout when it was dredged a few years back. Poole also has the largest natural harbour in the world (after Sydney altered theirs).
If you like Puds go to Poole Quay, where there are pubs, pubs and more pubs. Tuesday nights down on the quay is bike night when in the summer they get up to 1500 bikes or more along the quay.
Poole also has some great old buildings are churches as well as some nice parks (like Poole Park and Whitecliffs) with fenced off childrens play areas to stop dogs getting in.
On wet days there are also lots of great things to do at the quay like the oceanarium and poole pottery. While just a few miles from the centre of poole is Tower Park where there are resturants and a cinema...
