After entering the foyer, a rather vast servery is available in the centre of the floor. You are permitted to bring your own food/drinks onto premises. No alcohol is permitted, and there are no bars/licence.
I have made several visits to this cinema and been in most of the screens, from the small cosy 89 seater to the massive 279 seater. All films begin at the advertised time, and adverts run at all times. A small 10 minute commercial also runs prior to the film. Sound quality is superb, as is the seating. Toilets are located in the corridor, easy to locate.
A small number of "executive" seats are provided in all screens, available for a small extra fee.
The screens are adequately sized for those sitting at the front, but I found the best viewing is from about the 6th row onwards.
Overall one of the best one cineames you can visit, although you need a car to get to/from this venue.
Advantages: Good location, great selection of food places and a theme pub nearby, right on the banks of the River Clyde, great parking facilities Disadvantages:
This Odeon multicomplex is in an ideal location. Built very close to the River Clyde at the Springfield Quay, Paisley Road West, it is surrounded by great eating places such as Fatty Arbuckles and Frankie & Bennies, a Mecca Bingo and Hotshots a theme pub with bowling, pool, games machines, food and lots more.
It is also near the M8 motorway and the City Centre and there is a great parking facilities.
You can also walk along the banks of the River ...

Advantages: concession rates on Mondays Disadvantages: No parking space
The Odean cinema I frequent is one of the few cinemas that offer concession rates for tickets on all Mondays. You can get any movie ticket for 3.10 quid regardless of whether you are an adult, a student or an elderly person on a Monday.
I like going to Odean esp. when the queue for tickets is practically none and the theatre is usually less than half filled (due to competition from UGC cinemas nearby). Hence, there is more space and quietness for ...

.... come to the Maharaja! 117 Sauchiehall Street! Recently re-opened after environmental health scandal! We've all seen 'em. The frightening 'stills' photos of an Indian restaurant a mere "5 minutes from the Odeon!" played just before the main feature at the cinema. After an hour and a half of bum-resting, do you really want a curry? If you're at the Odeon in Renfield Street, Glasgow, chances are you do when the Modern India is just across the road.
Forget your conceptions of an Indian restaurant with flock wallpaper, grubby surroundings and appalling minature vases with a single carnation. This is clearly curry for the new millenium.
The Modern India used to be Balbir's, now defunct. A huge renovation (a la the rest of Glasgow) has given rise to one of the most popular curry-shops in the City Centre. The entrance is ...

[Updated 01/01/03, details at bottom]
Opened on 21 September 2000, as Europes tallest cinema at 12 storeys high, with 18 screens.
Typically showing 22 films this is by far the biggest choice in Central Scotland.
Located next to Cambridge Street carpark, Buchanan Bus Station, Queen Street Railway Station and Buchanan underground these are the best ways to travel to the venue, as parking in Glasgow is severely restrcited and pricey. (If driving into Glasgow the Odeon at The Quay will be cheaper, but not as good)
The cinema opens at 10:45 (unless there are early screenings for new releases).
"Early bird" tickets are available for all screenings before 12:00, currently £3.
Sign postings to the screens is amazingly poor, but I think they assume you know you have to go upstairs!
Access is via escalator or lifts.
The screens ...

STILL didnt come up to scratch! To them we are obviously just numbers and bums on seats! When you think of the amount of money the average couple pays just to go and see a movie there, you'd think they could make the effort to have toilet roll in the loos at LEAST??
And check their food to make sure it IS fit for human consumption!!
I won't be giving them the benefit of the doubt again and would recommend to others to steer clear! Try the Odeon in Renfield street, Its not so big but its not so expensive, the food is better and there's toilet roll in EVERY loo!
