Although located about 2 miles from the city centre, The Quay is in a retail park based around the Odeon cinema, making ideal for city centre visitors without having to pay parking charges. Ideally located for access from the M8 (eastbound Kinning Park exit), and from the M77.
12 screens, from 89 to 279. Normally showing between 14 and 18 films, at various times.
Adult tickets are £5, students/children are £3.50. No further discounts are currently offered (as at 01/06/02).
After entering the foyer, a rather vast servery is available in the centre of the floor. You are permitted to bring your own food/drinks onto premises. No alcohol is permitted, and there are no bars/licence.
I have made several visits to this cinema and been in most of the screens, from the small cosy 89 seater to the massive 279 seater. All films begin at the advertised time, and adverts run at all times. A small 10 minute commercial also runs prior to the film. Sound quality is superb, as is the seating. Toilets are located in the corridor, easy to locate.
A small number of "executive" seats are provided in all screens, available for a small extra fee.
The screens are adequately sized for those sitting at the front, but I found the best viewing is from about the 6th row onwards.
Overall one of the best one cineames you can visit, although you need a car to get to/from this venue.
