And to make you feel more at home, they even chuck in some free floor popcorn and under-the-seat chewing gum ( how generous ) !
To conclude, the prices charged by cinema's owned by Odeon, are ridiculous, and the overall experience is nothing to write home about.

Advantages: They might be screening a good film Disadvantages: Too damn expensive
...( in repsect to the odeon ) in terms of ticket prices and refreshments/confectionary products...
It costs me about £5.50 to buy a ticket at my local odeon cinema, for a film rated 15 or over, and about £4 for a film rated below a 15 certificate....quite excessive isn't it??
But ticket prices aren't the half of it - if you want to purchase a drink or maybe even some sweets to accompany you during the film, make sure you ... .../>
Now to be honest, Odeon cinema's aren't that bad, but for what they charge you'd expect a great deal more - they don't offer value for money I'm afraid and they haven't heard much about customer service either....
But obviously, if you can't wait for the film on video, waste your money and spoil yourself by going to watch it at an Odeon Cinema....
What happened to the days when you could pop into the cinema with " a couple of quid " and watch a film as well as purchase some much needed refreshments ??
Gone are those days I am afraid to say, Gone ! Nowaways, because of commercialisation, ticket prices and alike have shot through the roof, rendering our " couple of quid " totally useless...
A few questions spring to mind ... Why do they have to charge so much ? They probably make huge profits as it is. Don't they believe in keeping the consumer happy ?? Obviously not - yet as there are very few alternatives for cinema viewing, it would appear us consumers ( muppets ) keep going back for myore harsh treatment in the wallet department...
OK maybe I am being a little bit over-the-top, but in light of the situation, I feel I must air my views about the excessive costs imposed by cinemas ( in repsect to the odeon ) in terms of ticket prices and refreshments/confectionary products...

And then to top it all off, unless you are lucky enough to acquire a screen 1 viewing, be prepared to be situated in a " less than spacious " box, with a screen at the front...

Invest in a new television, with a 28" screen ( for example ) and buy some surround sound speakers - and then wait for the film to be released on video, so then you can watch it at hoome - on your make-shift system....it would probably work out cheaper !!

Advantages: Good sized screens, great auditoriums, caters for everyone, Disadvantages: Popcorn sometimes cardboardy, expensive chocolate treats,
I am a huge cinema fan, and living in the centre of Birmingham for the last couple of years has meant putting up with Odeon Birmingham. Needless to say, I was very happy to discover the brand spanking new Odeon in Liverpool One,
Odeon Liverpool One
Odeon is actually the largest cinema chain in the UK, created by Oscar Deutsch in 1928. Some say that the name comes from Ancient Greek, others say that it comes from the motto Oscar Deutsch Entertains Our Nation.
There are currently... a lot of Odeon cinemas across the UK (I tried to count, but it's a lot!). The website has a cinema finder to help you locate your nearest. For this review I shall be talking about Odeon, Liverpool ONE.
When Liverpool ONE was redeveloped, the city centre Odeon branch was relocated here. The entrance can be found ...
Advantages: there wasn't any! Disadvantages: no food or drink, dirty, screens didn't work, didn't show any of the top movies
we wanted to see.
From the outside, the cinema doesn't seem as impressive or big compared to the Vue cinema I usually go to in Cambridge. We walked through the doors, to find a large, virtually empty room. There was a really old arcade machine to the right, and to the left a small counter where you're meant to buy your tickets. There was no food or drink to be seen, and at the far end of the room was a few doors with numbers above them - obviously being the screen numbers. So at this point, we were both pretty unimpressed by what we saw. However, both wanting to see a movie after our morning swim, we looked up at the two plasma screens above the counter to find out what time our movie was being shown. Guess what? They weren't on! We saw a few other groups of people looking through a booklet with ODEON plastered on the front, so I walked ...

Advantages: large cinema, night screening, many restaurants Disadvantages: no parking around
Odeon cinema complex in Kingston Upon Thames is a favourite destination for families, couples, groups and individuals from all over the area/county. It is one of the biggest cinemas around and it has got a choice of restaurants, bars and 12 screens which makes it easier with choosing from current movies.
The complex is orientated oposite the Kingston train station and its short distance to high street. It is busy area and always buzzing. When you walk in through glass door you can either go upstairs using escalator or lift or downstairs.
The ground floor has a restaurant during the day and bar in the night. I think they have got evening restaurant in separate area from tables when youngsters usually drink before hitting the nightclub Oceana next door.
Lower level has got Bowling and other entertainment with bar and fast food ...
