Having been to the UGC on Broad Street in Birmingham recently, I realised what cinemas in general should be about. Space, comfort, nicely decorated interior, cheap, lots of screens, etc.
Then I went to the Odeon on New Street the night before last to see Charlie's angels. Great film (see my review - Angel Delight) bad cinema. I am roughly 6' tall which as about average these days for a 19 year old male, ie me. However, the seats appear to have been designed to fit someone of 4' in height, which may well have been fine when they were designed, but not now. Also, the armrests on the seats were so high that I couldn't put my arm around my girlfriend without risking recieving a dead arm.
As it happens, I didn't have to pay on the grounds that I got a couple of free admission vouchers but if I had, it would have cost me £9 for 2 adult tickets.
All in all, worth keeping away from.
