CHELSEA LODGE HOTEL -acceptable accomodation

Advantages: cheap and cheerful
Disadvantages: not classy but perfectly adequate overnight, but bed not good

CHELSEA LODGE HOTEL 268 FULHAM ROAD LONDON SW10 9EW 10 min walk from Fulham Broadway tube, same to Earls Court I stayed on Saturday 25 October 2008 because of its (reasonably) close proximity to Earls Court where I was attending an exhibition. There was another similar rated hotel behind the underground station but it was reported to be very noisy and I thought a 10 minute walk from hotel to destination would be refreshing, which it was. This hotel is on a busy main road on the corner of a junction, but inside the big old building you were not really aware of this. I think the hotel just had about 14 rooms in total, so not a busy place. The hotel receptionist was very pleasant and helpful and efficient. The room was clean and bright, and although I booked a single, they were all occupied and I was given a double ...

Southgate Hotel Exeter, home from home

Advantages: Within short walking distance of centre, friendly staff, pleasant atmosphere
Disadvantages: Bar pricey and lounge area needs refurbished

I have had the pleasure of staying at this hotel for an extended period last year. Whilst the hotel is due for major refurbishment, the only area this showed was the lounge bar area (flooring). The lounge is comfortable, fabulous large comfy settees, the staff are amazing and cant do enough for you. Drinks tend to be pricey and the bar menu is limited, although the restaurant serves a lovely evening meal and breakfasts to die for. The continental choice is amazing, there is also the option of full breakfast, which is normally very good, though during the week can be a bit slow dependent on your choice of breakfast time. The hotel seems to cater mostly for business people during the week , weekends, older couples and wedding parties. The rooms are a good size and all have ensuite (they even have volume controls ...

Review of Macdonald Southgate Hotel, Exeter

Stoke Lodge Hotel, Dartmouth

Advantages: Great views, lovely rooms and close to Blackpool Sands
Disadvantages: Out of Dartmouth, but great for a quieter stay

We arrived at Stoke Fleming nr dartmouth for a weekend away. The Stoke Lodge hotel is a lovely hotel situated in a small village called Stoke Fleming which is on the way towards Blackpool sands. The hotel is very relaxed with very pleasant rooms and a great view. There is a large chess set on the lawn, gardens to wander and also a games room downstairs, away from all the guests. We ventured out on the saturday night for a meal at the Green Dragon pub which serves excellent crab sandwiches in the day but a beautifully coked meal in the evening. Afterwards we strolled back to Stoke Lodge where we went downstairs and played pool whilst enjoygin drinks from the bar. Over all a very enjoyable weekend which was enhanced by the great accomodation in a lovely village. ...
