The Malvern Hills Hotel

Advantages: Location
Disadvantages: None

I stayed at this hotel last weekend and can thoroughly recommend it. I was meeting an old school friend for a weekend of walking, chatting, theatre & good food. The Malvern Hills Hotel provided the perfect base for a wonderful short break. LOCATION: The hotel is located near the southern end of the Malvern Hills directly opposite Herefordshire Beacon (also known as British Camp). It is on the border of Herefordshire & Worcestershire, about 3 miles south of Great Malvern on the A449. This is an ideal position from which to explore the Malvern Hills - you can leave the car in the car park and walk directly onto the hills. For those who don't want to walk so far, the Malvern Hills Hopper (service number 244) stops at British Camp, so you can just walk one way and then get the bus back (or vice versa). I think the bus runs from April ...

WHY ARE SOME HOTELS SO INAPPROPRIATELY NAMED?

Advantages: Convenient for London, on-site parking, wireless internet, good lager
Disadvantages: very small rooms for very high prices

renovated. = LOCATION Relatively easy to access from Junction 4 of the M4, the hotel is situated on the edge of Harrow, and is about 10 minutes walk from Harrow on the Hill tube and mainline station.; the main bus station is also within a few minutes walk. The Quality is also in relatively close proximity to the North Circular and therefore the M1, and is great if your onward journey take you up North; we left in early rush hour, and although traffic was busy, we kept moving at all times. Heathrow airport is around 11 miles away, and planes can be regularly heard flying overhead. There is a reasonable amount of free parking on-site, and from the front aspect, the Quality Harrow looks inviting. = CHECK-IN Reception is a very small affair, offering a check ...

Review of Quality Hotel Harrow, London

Old Ship Hotel is Really Very OLD!

Advantages: Service at breakfast and breakfast itself
Disadvantages: shabby rooms, noisy doors, no sound-proofing

As part of a hen weekend package we were upgraded to the apparently 4 star Old Ship Hotel in Brighton which is Brighton's oldest hotel. I hadn't heard anything about it prior to hearing we would be staying here but having asked a few friends who'd visited Brighton quite often I didn't hear anything positive - those who had stayed there said it was pretty shabby and those who hadn't stayed said it looked pretty shabby just from the outside. Not a good start but as if was part of the hen weekend package and because we'd been upgraded for free from a 3 star hotel to the Old Ship Hotel I had to assume it couldn't be all bad - maybe it had been refurbished since my friends had seen it/stayed there. There are apparently 50 car parking spaces for use by hotel guests which you have to pay about £15 a day and £5 overnight to use these. There ...
