The Britannia Hotel has a High-Speed Wireless Internet Access for anyone taking a laptop with them
All in all - a lovely building to visit and look around, but not a very good hotel at all

Advantages: Great location and nice rooms Disadvantages: Little bit expensive, but good value overall
...minutes on foot from some of the biggest shops in the city including Selfridges, Harvey Nicholls and the House of Fraser store Kendals. Following the bombing in 1996 Manchester city centre has undergone total regeneration and there are all the famous name shops you could ever hope to find. On Deansgate, St Ann's Square and King Street you will find a whole host of designer names such as Hugo Boss, Ted Baker, Karen Millen, DKNY and Tommy Hilfiger. On Market Street and the Arndale Shopping Centre you will find all your favourite high street favourites.
Night time fun?

...I stayed here for one night last week on a business trip to Manchester. I'd stayed there several times before, but they've recently renovated some of the public areas to make a new "Executive Lounge" with computers and things. Not quite sure what you need to get in there though...
The hotel is just off Junction 6 (Hale) of the M56 motorway, just 2 miles from Manchester Airport. and a 10 minute drive up the M56 to Manchester itself. This makes it quite popular for conferences and seminars, and there were a few going on there last week, one was "Effective decision making for non-executive directors of mutuals", that could have been interesting
There's a complimentary shuttle to Manchester Airport and they also offer "Park & Fly" packages (around £8 per day, I think) so you can leave your car there while you jet off...

I stayed at the Tulip Inn (Trafford Centre) early in August as the Arctic Monkeys were playing at Lancashire Cricket Ground.
When we arrived the car park was quite full but had plenty of spaces, even though the hotel very obviously very busy.
