PLEASE DO NOT RATE THIS REVIEW AS I HAVE PLACED IT IN THE WRONG CATEGORY AND AM WAITING FOR CIAO TO CHANGE IT.

For my boyfriend's birthday last year, I booked us both tickets to Prague for a 5 day break in December. After booking the flights, I then needed to find somewhere to stay. I looked around on the internet and found that if you wanted to stay close to the attractions, then the hotel cost was going to be very expensive. I carried on looking through the website and eventually came across a website for Old Town Apartments.

Old Town Apartments
Old Town Apartments own a number of apartments in various parts of Prague. These range from studio apartments to apartments that sleep up to eight people. I booked a studio apartment as we obviously only needed the one bedroom.

Booking Our Stay
Booking our apartment was really simple. I literally logged onto their website, entered the dates I needed to stay and also which sort of apartment I wanted and booked it straight away online.

Cost
I paid £200 for both of us to have the apartment for five nights. I thought this was pretty good value for money considering some of the prices I was getting for hotels in the same area.

Taxi
Old Town Apartments offer a taxi service where they will collect you from the airport and drop you to the apartment. We decided to take up this offer because otherwise we would have had to collect the keys to the apartment from their office in the centre of Prague, so we figured getting a taxi would be easier. A one way trip was £17 which was quite expensive but it gave us peace of mind that we were going to get there.

Location
The block of apartment that we stayed in were located about a ten minute walk away from Wenceslas Square which is in Prague town so we were really conveniently located to visit all the attractions such as The Astronomical Clock and The Charles Bridge

The Apartment
We were collected at the airport and driven to our apartment. When we arrived there, our driver came in and showed us around the apartment. Then I paid him for our stay. He provided us with a map of the area and also showed us where their office was if we needed anything during our stay in Prague.

I must admit, when we first pulled up outside the apartment, I was slightly worried because it looked a bit run down from the outside. We then entered a long corridor which again was pretty run down and dirty. We were staying on the fifth floor of the apartment block and you had the choice of using a stairwell or a lift. Both were run down and dirty, the stairwell had rubbish littered all around at the lift was absolutely tiny with one light hanging out the roof with all the cables exposed!!

When we reached our apartment and opened the front door, I was so relieved. Inside, the apartment looked modern and clean. As you open the front door, you are greeted by a long hallway which has a single toilet at the far end with the entrance to the living room to the right of that. Just inside the front door and to the right, was the main bathroom which was of a good size and very clean. In the bathroom there was a full length bath with an overhead shower, a toilet and a sink with a large sink area and a mirror above it. There were also heated towel rails which I thought were a nice added extra.

The living room was fairly large, about 15ft square. Inside there was lounge area which consisted of a three seater sofa, a large coffee table and the TV, which sat on top of a TV unit behind the table. The only channels we could find were foreign but this didn't really matter as we didn't go on holiday to watch TV! Also in the living room, there were two small camp type beds which were situated at either end of the room. I guess these were there in case you needed to sleep more people, or as another lounge area. Just inside the living room, to the left there was a table and four chairs.

The kitchen was a good size and again, looked very modern. It had all the usual kitchen bits such as a fridge-freezer, a kettle, a toaster and a 2 ring hob. The kitchen cupboards were full with crockery, cutlery and cooking items such as frying and saucepans. The fridge was a decent size and you could easily fit a weeks worth of food it in.

The bedroom was off from the living room and looked clean and bright. Inside, there was a double bed, a wardrobe and two bedside cabinets with a lamp on each one.

All the flooring throughout the apartment was laminate and it also had under floor heating which was an absolute luxury as I really feel the cold, and Prague was really cold when we went I December. The apartment also had a central heating system which was very easy to use and was really welcomed after a day out sight seeing.

Summary
In summary, I would highly recommend Old Town Apartments if you are visiting Prague. I thought the prices they charged were reasonable and the apartments were centrally located for anyone wanting to see the sights of Prague. Even thought the apartment block itself could maybe do with some updating, the apartments inside were spacious, clean and fitted with all the stuff we needed during our stay.
