The fourth republic

Advantages: Nice thought, and a good place in which to think it
Disadvantages: Not much to see, except perhaps on April 1st

for sitting and watching the sunlight dapple the river and the mermaid statue set in the bank opposite, but it's hardly Les Deux Magots. Similarly, U?upis is sometimes compared to Montmartre. Forget it; they both have their attractions, but they are in no way similar. U?upis is simply too sparsely furnished with places to go and things to do. There are, at most, four or five cafés, and they do not cluster around a centre, and therefore do not create a café atmosphere. Restaurants? Well, there are one or two in the little area around the Angel, including U?upis Klasika, which has a (carefully cultivated?) reputation for being quaint and disorganised. Another, up the hill, the Tores, is well spoken of for its rooftop terrace and view out over Vilnius Old Town. We didn't go in, but the menu suggested their prices were normal for Vilnius ...

Our Perfect Stay In Prague

Advantages: Convenient location, lovely apartment, good value for money
Disadvantages: Outside of building could do with a re - vamp

For my boyfriend's birthday last year, I booked us both tickets to Prague for a 5 day break in December. After booking the flights, I then needed to find somewhere to stay. I looked around on the internet and found that if you wanted to stay close to the attractions, then the hotel cost was going to be very expensive. I carried on looking through the website and eventually came across a website for Old Town Apartments. Old Town Apartments Old Town Apartments own a number of apartments in various parts of Prague. These range from studio apartments to apartments that sleep up to eight people. I booked a studio apartment as we obviously only needed the one bedroom. Booking Our Stay Booking our apartment was really simple. I literally logged onto their website, entered the dates I needed to stay and also which sort of apartment I ...

Review of Prague Old Town Apartments

A cultural experience

Advantages: Central yet quiet location, beautifully renovated building, stylish accommodation
Disadvantages: More expensive than other hotels in Vilnius - but worth it!

When I found out recently that I was to head to Vilnius on a business trip, I have to admit to being prey to some misapprehensions about what awaited me. For some reason, I had matched the capital of Lithuania in my head with visions of some dull, grey Eastern bloc city with little to recommend it - but I'm happy to admit that I couldn't have been further from the truth. I'd heard and read a lot about Riga and Tallinn, but the extremely well-preserved centre of Vilnius came as a very pleasant surprise. The Shakespeare Boutique Hotel was also the perfect place to dispel any misplaced notions I may have had about the standard of accommodation in this Baltic capital. Hidden away in a quiet side street just off the main tourist drag, and only two minutes' walk from the main square and the cathedral, the Shakespeare is perfectly placed ...
