If you are British and are thinking of booking a holiday to the Hotel Meri in Olu Deniz Turkey, then please think again and reconsider as I unfortunately did not. For starters depending on whom u booked your holiday with (lets hope not Anatolian-sky) then you will be flying with Cyprus Turkish airways (if Anatolian sky then definitely). This airline is by far THE WORST I have ever traveled with. The plains only have two toilets, so the queue for the loo is so long you might as well forget trying to get up. Each passenger receives 1, yes only 1 beverage throughout their 4 hour + flight, with a meal of low standards. There is no in flight entertainment and not even the common radio found in the arm of your seat. Prepare to be bored, and if you have kids, I'm sure their boredom will cause you more pain than anything else, lol. When landed Dalaman airport is small and crowded, hard to move. Mini Bus journey to Olu Deniz takes roughly 1 hour and 45 minutes. Then when you finally arrive at hotel Meri, it's not all you expected. Spread out over the mountain side, your eating areas are at the bottom of the mountain, and your accommodation at the top. If you are sitting at the pool and realize you need your book to read from your apartment, and then be prepared for a long treck up hundreds of steps, or u can wait for a cable car that must be the slowest operating cable car in the world! Let's just recap. You pay £1000 per person for this holiday, and it's all inclusive right? Well slightly. Breakfast is at 8am-10am. The only food on offer is fruit and bread, which are covered with swarms of wasps, so if u fancy an early morning sting, then go ahead. Lunch is at 12:30pm-2:30pm, moderately wide range of salad and such food, 4 main warm foods of small quantity that the staff dish out in very small portions, if u dare ask for more; expect a scowl from your staff. They really do make you feel that your £1000 was worth it, NOT!!! Dinner is at 8:30pm-10:30pm, same as lunch, salad and small main 4 dishes that are giving out like rationed supplies. Oh and the beer served, its watered down and fizzy, you might as well drink soda water because there is no chance you are going to topple over from that. Resort and hotel is very German orientated, expect few British if any. Food also seems to be catered for the German taste. So with the lack of food and mountain treck up to your room, expect to loose weight rapidly and visibly, we all did!! Which is ironic because you would think an all inclusive would pile on the weight. I didn't really enjoy the fact I had paid £1000 for a diet!! Resort is lively, sort of. It consists of just bars and shops. No proper restaurants or places to escape for a good meal. My most enjoyable meal of the 2 weeks was a kebab in the town!!!
Well that's kind of all you need to know to make up your mind, oh and if you think turkey is a good place 2 stretch your money, then that's fiction as well, its expensive! Hope you have a good time, well you can try!!! Hope this helps.
