Advantages: great facilities, good location
Disadvantages: food & drink can be expensive

...Oman and stayed in the Grand Hyatt. This is a spectacular hotel and is located on the Shatti Al Qurm beach overlooking the Gulf of Oman, in the middle of the diplomatic and government district in Muscat. Other international 5 stars hotel are also close by on the beach and include the Intercontinental and the Crowne Plaza. It has 280 rooms and suites and is an ideal hotel for both business and pleasure and is frequented by both business travellers ...
...with either views of the pool, the Gulf of Oman or the mountains. All the rooms have balconies although there isn't any chairs or table on the balcony but these can be requested from housekeeping. Well designed and laid out the rooms come with all facilities including flat screen tvs, in room safe, desk, robes, air conditioning (which you need), free bottles of mineral water and fruit which is replenished daily. Now one of my five favourite hotels in the world.

Advantages: Great room, excellent service, attention to detail
Disadvantages: Room service food a bit bland

...but at the Al Bustan Intercontinental there was no doubt. As we checked out, the receptionist swiped the credit card and, while waiting for it to clear, she took the form into the back room. A minute later she was back. "Sir, you weren't very happy with the room service? I'm really sorry to hear that. What was wrong?" Huh? Someone was interested? I told her that the food had been a little bland and suggested that as there was a Chinese restaurant ...
...Room The Al Bustan Intercontinental has several different categories of room. I am not sure which we were in, but the room was lovely. The main part of the room held the usual double bed, TV stand, minibar, etc. Beyond that, there was a separate lounge extension to the room, divided by a waist high wall and a pair of columns, which held a sofa on either side and a coffee table. The walls, from floor to thigh high, were tiled with blue and white tiles. ...
