Orchard Rd is the most "famous" of all the shopping streets in Singapore. The main shopping centers are all on this street... Wisma Atria, Ngee Ann City (takashimaya), and further down plaza singapaura and the like. On this street u will be able to shop to your hearts content, no matter what your taste and budget in clothes is. For there is the low budget This Fashion, where tops range from S$5 upwards... that being less than 2 quid... to the branded stores of DKNY, Gucci and the like to be found in shopping centers like taka, paragon and so on...
However, if one wants to get away from the frenetic atmosphere of Orchard rd (particularly on the weekends), there are many other shopping centers that will fufill your shopping needs...
in the suburban areas of singapore like tampines, bishan and yishun, there are many surburban malls which could cater to your shopping desires..... the atmosphere in these places is more relaxed and you will see many of the singapore heartlanders in these places.. these malls are also conviniently located near the mrt (train) stations.
Apart from the shopping, Orchard Rd is also home to many eateries and clubs.... for those seeking a gd nite out, this is the place to be.
