The word of terror to most guys whenever their girlfriends say it. The 'S' word. Shopping. This word alone is enough to induce fear in any guy. Unless he loves to shop himself or is made out of gold. But in most cases, I do believe it induces the case of walletis emptititis. Orchard road is a great place to go shopping. The entire road from Scotts road, is lined with shopping malls. I think that there are 43 of them in all. At last count. And there are lots of varieties of shops to go for. I tried to go for all the shops in one go, but there were too many. I think I only managed 5 or 6 malls in a day. Lets you know that one can spend a week roughly going through the shops with relative ease. One can find Versace, Armani, Esprit, and other famous brands in abundance there. Sales are also often to be had, especially the annual great Singapore Sale where prices are slashed left, right and center. This is usually in the month of July, and it lasts for the entire month. But a word to you prospective shoppers frothing the the mouths. It's when most if not all shops unload unwanted and unsold goods on us poor folk. And prepare for huge crowds there. If there's one sport bored housewives excel at, it's either punting on the stock market or shopping to get the greatest discount. 'Look!!! I got this 5 cents cheaper than the other shop!!!' Sigh. Such is Singaporean life. My personal favourites in terms of malls would be Bugis, Takashimaya, The new renovated Plaza Singapura, and maybe, maybe, Scotts. But there are also movie theatres (Cineplexes) in the malls which show a slew of movies to the bored soul. And restaurants and eateries for the hungry tummy. :)
