It is on the coast of the Red Sea. Sharm el shiekh old town is actually on a cliff top, the main beach area here is Naama Bay which is at cliff base level and slightly further up the coast. Review of Sharm El Sheikh (Egypt)

Hilton Sharm Dreams, Sharm el Sheik

Advantages: Location - short stroll into Na'ama Bay. Good swimming pools
Disadvantages: Poor service, expensive food and drink

We stayed at the Hilton Sharm Dreams in Sharm el Sheik in September 07 for 7 nights. Overall the stay was pleasant, but I think that if I returned to Sharm el Sheik then I would try a different hotel (we have stayed at the Hilton in Dahab and the Intercontinental in Hurghada, both of which I preferred to this hotel) On arrival at the hotel, check in was relatively painless. The rooms themselves were fine, although not as luxurious as some other 5 star Egyptian hotels I have stayed in. They were quite large and we had a terrace with a table and chairs and also a table and chairs inside the room. The bathroom was adequate and quite clean, although again, not fantastic. After using up the toiletries within the room, we had to wait a number of days for these to be refreshed and even then we didn't get a full selection (which I ...

Orient Express but not on rails - Great Istanbul hotel

Advantages: Great location, very good customer service and food in restaurants good
Disadvantages: rooms a little dark and we had no view , could not flush toilet paper in the toilet

Sirkeci is also an area of the old part of Istanbul and The Sirkeci Railway Station was the terminus of the famous Orient Express train and was just round the corner from the hotel. GETTING THERE: We arrived at the airport after a flight from Birmingham via Amsterdam and having read a number of reviews about the taxis from the airport and their enthusiasm for speed and reluctance to accept a fair fare or take four people in one taxi, we choose to book an airport transfer.
