Florida in a Luxury Villa.. Can't wait to go back!

Advantages: Weather, Space, Value for money
Disadvantages: 8 hours in a plane

...and we arrived safely at Orlando Sandford. After collecting our luggage we set off to collect our hire car. We had booked via Cosmos and were told to report to the Alamo desk which we duly did. The Alamo staff were not particularly cheerful but we collected our car and set off on the 60 minute drive to our villa. The Villa was excellent, we had seven bedrooms, 5 bathrooms, games room, private pool and full air conditioning.. Superb. Over the following ...

Hey Mickey!

Advantages: Great fun, weather
Disadvantages: price

...several different Disney parks in Orlando - Magic Kingdom, Aninal Kingdom, Epcot, Downtown Disney, MGM studios and the water parks being the main ones. Magic Kingdom is the famous one, with the castle, plenty of rides and shows, real good mix of adult rides and stuff for the kids.You can have character breakfasts, there's the daily parades (the night one is awesome and the fireworks are fantastic) and various other things going on. Animal Kingdom ...
...characters. Epcot has different 'lands' set round a lake - the UK has a pub, red phone boxes and plays host to Beatles tribute bands. There's a few rides and fireworks every night. The water parks are pretty good, lot's of slides. MGM is OK, fair few shows and some rides - perhaps some of the shows are more for kids. Downtown Disney is more for adults, with bars, shops and restaurants. Most hotels have shuttles to the Disney parks so they are easy ...

We went here.

Advantages: Food is cheep.
Disadvantages: Mickey Mouse never met us.

We went to Orladough to see Mickey mouse but before we got there we had to take an aeroplane. I thought this was a plane made of chocolate as an aero is a chocolate bar made by willy wonka who wears a big hat and sings a lot. The Aeroplane was cool and we all had our own seat and they gave us headphones so we could listen to the radio which was inside the arm of the chair they gave us. The aerohostess asked me if I wanted a drink but I declined as ...
...have noticed if I sneaked of to have a drink with her. We landed at a different place to where we took off at and I thought Mickey Mouse would be there to greet us but he was not so I was pretty miffed by now. We had to go to some place where it said "Imigration" which I guess was to learn about birds and their winter flight paths but I thought that was weird after spending so long in a plane so I declined that. Orlando declining

Advantages: Plenty to do and great theme parks
Disadvantages: Low standards

My experiences of Orlando have changed my views during the past 20 years. My first visit was in 1987 and I couldn't fault it. However, I have returned several times and each time I notice it declining. The family restaurants that I once enjoyed have become dull and have reached poor quality. To enjoy a decent meal you have to visit the more upmarket restaurants which works out expensive. The atmosphere and appearance seems dull and dirty not at all ...
...away from Orlando itself I managed to spread my sightseeing further afield. For instance a trip to Melbourne beach (about an hour's drive from Orlando) made a change too. I would avoid September in future as each time I visit during this time it did nothing but rain. ...

What has Florida got to offer?

Advantages: Too many to mention. Theme Parks. WOW factor. Great Dining. Cheap Clothes
Disadvantages: Pricey Attraction Tickets

We were advised to use the quieter toll roads instead of Interstate 4 to travel to International Drive. We would disagree with this advice as we found I4 really easy to drive along. ...first - the attractions : Orlando boasts many attractions for all ages. At Walt Disney World you will find Magic Kingdom, Epcot, MGM (now Disney Studios - I believe), Animal Kingdom, Blizzard Beach, Typhoon Lagoon, Disneys Wide World of Sport and Downtown Disney.
