OXFORD TUBE - SIMPLY AND EASY TO USE

Advantages: stressfree, quick, easy to use
Disadvantages: may be separated if bus is full up

...However, somebody recommended the Oxford Tube, so we decided to give ourselves a stress free trip and not have to worry about parking and booked the Oxford Tube instead. What is the Oxford Tube? Well, The Oxford Tube is a bus service that at peak times runs every 15 minutes between Oxford and London. We were very happy with the Tube and will definitely be using it again. There are a number of stops in Oxford where you can get on and off, namely: ...
...Clements, Oxford Brookes University, Headington, Gladstone Road, Green Road and Sandhills. We got on at Thornhills Park and Ride which is on the edge of Oxford. Parking here is free and there are toilets available. At the moment it is a bit of a building site, as they are building shelters and nicer toilets for the future. We arrived at 9am and while we were getting out of the car, 2 Oxford Tube buses turned up. One was nearly full so we got on ...

Oxford? Hyped up!! Go reading or London instead

Advantages: Transport links to London & Reading
Disadvantages: Provides no real life

...old same old. Oxford is extremely small even the city centre! I can count the number of decent shops on my hand, so if you are looking to do some shopping stay away!!! go to reading it;s MUCH BETTER and its only 20 mins on train. Nightlife in Oxford is almost non existant. Ocean and Collins was the only decent club and now they have closed it down.. unless you want to go clubbing witha load of 15 years olds stay away from bridge. No entertainment ...
...Even with the TINY facilities Oxford has to offer the prices that they charge are EXTORTIONATE living in Oxford is soo expensive!! I recently moved from Heading I was paying £850 pcm excluding bills for the most basic basic facilites. All in all Oxford is good for tourists as in that sense it has a lot to offer but to live here? No way. The only decent thing is the transport services to london and reading. It's a small place but with a large population. ...

Oxford car parking

Advantages: Beautiful City
Disadvantages: Anti-motorist attitude

...a surprise motorist's welcome to Oxford and become a victim of the mis-leading car park signage.Travelling up Thames Street from the Abingdon Road end, with the intention of parking in the large surface level car park, a sign directed me to turn right. I promptly did so and found myself at the junction with Speedwell Street. The only sign at this point is one warning of two way traffic on Speedwell Street. Since the main car park was on my left, ...
...I have been trapped by Oxford Councils' inadequate signage, and as a first time visitor with no knowledge of the city, I was relying on the signs for assistance. Once in the car park I was relieved of £9.70 for four hours parking, so the whole experience has left a very nasty taste. I write this as a warning to other prospective visitors - vigilance will be no help to you, as the trap is very cunningly set. ...

Need to get back to Oxford at 1am? Perfect.

Advantages: cheaper than the train, 24 hour service
Disadvantages: takes forever

The Oxford Tube is a bus service which runs from Oxford's Gloucester Green bus station to Victoria in London and back again via the M40. It has the following stops throughout Oxford and London: Oxford: Gloucester Green Bus Station Speedwell Street (getting on only, Mon-Fri 0800-1800) St Aldates (getting off only) High Street St Clements Oxford Brookes University Headington Shops Gladstone Road (getting off only) Green Road roundabout (getting ...
...2) Its frequency - the Oxford Tube runs every ten - fifteen minutes in both directions during the day and about every twenty - thirty minutes at night. 3) The fact that it runs until about 3am in both directions. However, this bus takes FOREVER. It is not the actual motorway driving which takes the time, it is getting in and out of London and Oxford, because of all the various stops it has to make. Particularly getting in and out of Oxford, surprisingly. ...

My day trip to Oxford!

Advantages: A beautiful city, full of history and architecture
Disadvantages: So much to do and so little time!

...a very nice visit. Oxford is quite obviously in Oxfordshire, a very picturesque part of England. It is accessible by coach, railway and obviously motorway. However it is not recommended that you drive directly into Oxford, we decided to go by park and ride, which was very satisfactory. We went to the Water Eaton park and ride which is only 15 mins from the city centre, it is also quite cheap at £2 per adult and free for children, I'm not sure how ...
...15 mins to get into Oxford and we dismounted the bus outside St Mary Magdalene's church and admired the Martyrs Memorial, and my dad pointed out the hotel across the road, The Randolph featured in Inspector Morse and famous for its teas. But we didn't go in for a tea, and continued on our journey. We walked up and down a few streets admiring several beautiful buildings; however we really didn't have a clue what they were. By this time we were starving ...
