restaurants, very different from the usual long-grain or Basmati rice found in supermarkets. A friend of mine once said it was the best rice she ever had. Turkish rice is smaller, rounder and has an off-white colour. It's savoury and possibly more nutritious than white rice. You can buy this rice in any grocery store on Green Lanes.
TAKE AWAY
Our preferred takeaway for two at £8 we bought on a weekly basis for a quick and hearty dinner consisted of a large stew (big box), small rice (small box), salad (mixed salad in a small box) and naan bread. All this for a couple and we ate well I have to say.
Other takaways we had was a large shish kebab (two skewers) with rice, salad and naan bread again at £8.
DRINKS

Advantages: A VERY FRIENDLY PLACE Disadvantages: Not able to go there often enough.
The ANTALYA is our little oasis in the centre of Nottingham.
It is located in Forman Street which is next to the Theatre Royal and The Concert Hall, also across the road is the Corner House which houses a Multi Screen Cinema.
There are many eating places in the area, but if you are looking for something different to PIZZA.s BURGERS Etc then enter
THE DOOR OF ANTALYA TURKISHRESTAURANT.
As you enter there is a Small Bar, and I am sure there will be a smiling face to Greet you.
There is a large dining area. We usually aim for the tables near the wall as it has Bench Seating against the wall which we find very comfortable.
There is also an upstairs area which includes a working Fountain, this area seems to be used as an overflow or for large parties.
The decor of the dining areas we find very pleasant ...
Advantages: Great atmosphere Disadvantages: None really

As starters, we have tried the home-made hummus, chorizo sausage fried in a tomato sauce and a type of cheese - I would guess it was goat's cheese, although I am not completely sure. All were tasty and enjoyable - particularly the chorizo sausage, which was excellent with bread to soak up the tomato sauce. The portion of cheese was rather small, but the hummus and chorizo sausage were plentiful.
It is a Turkishrestaurant and as such, kebabs are the order of the day. The first time we went, we tried the shish kebab, served with rice and salad, which was beautifully cooked. The meat was just right - not overdone and not at all chewy. The boiled rice and salad were perhaps a little boring, but then they were just ...
