Hi, I am a 42 year old (JUST) mother of 3, now very grown up children. I work full time in the NHS and have been married for 20 years. I enjoy boating and like to go abroad in the winter for some sunshine.

I dragged my hubby on this minicruise as cruising is something he thought would be posh and not for him - wrong - he is now hooked!! We took the car on a p&o mini cruise from hull to rotterdam on the Pride of Hull, one of the newest and largest ferriesin uk service. The food in the 4 seasons restaurant was lovely and after a waitered first course the rest was self service (eat as much as you like) yipee! the breakfast was the same! It cost £106 for the car and two passengers, the food was extra and a little dear but well worth it! The crossing there and back was smooth and uneventful - but i suppose this could be very different depending on the weather. The ferry left hull at 9pm and arrived in Rotterdam (the biggest seaport in Europe) at 8am the next morning. A standard cabin is a bunk bed affair with en-suite toilet/shower and very clean / tidy etc. There was plenty of enterainment on board, including live band / disco a quieter piano bar and a separate quiet room for reading etc. It was very easy to get lost especially on the accommodation decks but all staff were very helpful. The duty free shop was well stocked but ran out of lager and any special deals very quickly. The special we took advantage of was 9 litres (3 x 3 litre boxes) of hardys wine for £15 (we bought rather a lot!)
