The Cabins The decks from bottom to top are as follows Topaz deck - Where the disco & cinema are these are both quite small but adequate for there use on board.
Principal deck - This is where the reception, beauty salon, hospital, very small gym & restaurant are. This is also the deck where all the single cabins are. The single cabins are the same size as all other cabins, but they only have a small porthole, which you cannot see out of, but it lets in adequate light for you not to feel enclosed.
Jade deck - Jade deck is solely cabins twin, three & fourth berths. The outer ones are in sections the A, A2 & AA The A's are the front inside cabins which have no windows or any light in, the AA category are the middle inside cabins the more expensive of the three (mid ship is where you are meant to feel less motion) & then A2 (the second most expensive as they are at the back of the ship) The cat A are meant to be the cheapest as they are at the front & are first to hit the waves.
Emerald deck - This deck is where the Starlight lounge is along with the majestic lounge, library & casino are. The cabins on this deck are the cat H which are outside twin cabins with a picture window & then there are the cat B's which are the same cabins but inside ones.
Diamond deck - This deck is home to the bigger cabins on board there are 3 cabins with double beds the rest are twins, all cabins with the cat I status are outside cabins & the middle cabins which are in the middle with 4 berths have a restricted view by the lifeboats, this isn't a nice view but the cabins are roomy & the restricted view still lets some light in. This deck is also home to the on board shop which sells cigarettes, alcohol (which can only be taken when you disembark) perfume, souvenirs & everyday toiletries.
Aquamarine deck - This is the deck where you will find the bridge (an area restricted unless you have made arrangements to view) You can also visit the Lido garden bar & buffet area, this is a very nice bar with a beautiful skylight do you can gaze into the stars at night, you can also sample the hot buffet which is available at all times up until the midnight buffet. You can expect to find cakes, chips, burgers, salad, sandwiches & general snack food in this area. The pool is also on this deck it is quite small in size but is a lovely sundeck area, lovely for an afternoon drink, there is also an outdoor bar for all your drinking needs. The cabins on this deck are known as the cat J's which are known as superior cabins, they are very central to amenities & nice & roomy.
Sapphire deck - This is the deck to be on There are 8 cabins on this deck all with double beds, balcony, mini bar, fridge & extra wardrobe.
All cabins are of the same standard all bathrooms are the same there are no baths on board, only showers. Each room has free shower gel, shampoo & conditioner, towels, mineral water & soap (all replenished everyday) Every deck has its own maid who you can consult. Every cabin has twin beds (even the singles) except for the sapphire deck & aquamarine. All cabins are decorated in the same style & each on has a TV, dressing table, wardrobe, mirror & bedside cabinet.
Entertainment The main entertainment at night is in either the bar or show lounge where you will find a cabaret, singer, comedy act or dance lesson going on, which will keep you amused into the night if that's not your thing you can sit & play cards with people or visit the casino which is quite a small room with around 10 bandits in which probably hardly payout! If exercising is your thing you could visit the quaint gym it is equipped with rowing machine, running machine, weights & exercise bikes, there is also a tanning bed. The cinema is quite a good size seats around 100 but is not widely used, for information on shows you only have to go to reception.
Dinning Breakfast is served around 8am depending if your going out & this is a waitress service. You have some fruit, yoghurt, fried breakfast & then some toast & tea. Lunch is pretty much a self-service deal where you can have things such as pasta, salad. Sandwiches etc or you can have a sit down 4-course meal depending on how much you can eat in one day! The evening meal is served in two sittings first at 6:30pm & second at 8:30pm. When I had evening meal I had a mushroom dish in a wine sauce then some soup (beef) then I had a leg of lamb with vegetables followed by a lemon meringue pudding & cheese & biscuits. You can have complimentary tea & coffee, which is very plentiful or water which I stuck to. I thought the meal was very nice, but laid a little heavy at 8:30pm the waiter service was very nice but sometimes felt a little uncomfortable, as they just cannot do enough for you, which I suppose is a good thing.
Drinks All drinks have to be paid for & you generally run a tab throughout your cruise. When you embark on the ship you register your credit card number (or pay a deposit in cash) then every time on board you buy a drink you sign your tab with your name & room number & you get billed at the end of the cruise. Drinks are good fair value a coke is around £1 & beer around £3.
Who travels on the Ocean Majesty? The main market for the Ocean Majesty are mainly the over 50's as the ship has a very friendly, sociable & informal atmosphere, with very pleasant staff. Everyone is well looked after but Page & Moy only really cater for the older generation similar to Saga on their cruises.
Who shouldn't travel on the Ocean Majesty? Well I am afraid the Ocean majesty is no good for disable people, as the ship is just not designed for this. There is a step into every room for some reason (it took me ages to stop tripping over) & the corridors are just not wide enough to accommodate a wheel chair. The doorways to the cabins are also very narrow. Young people & children would not be pleased to be aboard this ship either as there is not much for them to be kept occupied & they would probably be very bored on a holiday longer than a week.
Prices To travel on the Ocean Majesty won't set you back an arm & a leg but prices do vary a lot, brochure price is usally no more than £2000pp for Sapphire deck cabins depending obviously on where you are travelling to & the cheapest usually come out at around £749pp to £999pp, but Page & Moy do very good discounted rates about a week before you go sometimes 2 4 1 offers & sometimes they even go for as low as £249pp which is a bargain as the cruise is full board but can you wait a week before you go & end up getting any cabin that is left ?
Singles If you are a single traveller there is a good choice to offer you can either pay for a single cabin which is around £1,600 or you could opt for a nice cabin of your choice & pay a 75% supp, all very good but not all pensioners can afford this if you can't there is a possibility with sharing with a stranger but i'm not sure i would like to do that. Would you ?? My Experience I enjoyed the Ocean Majesty quite a lot as she is only a 3* ship the service is very good & the ship is very clean. The staff are friendly & if you call for them they come to your cabin very quickly. I personally would not go on holiday on the Ocean Majesty again but purely because I feel I am too young & got bored very quickly, the food is lovely though & you feel like you have put on a stone. I found the entertainment very good & thought the dances where excellent as they could sing very nicely as well.
The Page & Moy website is a very good source of cabin information as it has a web cam of every cabin & I didn't realise until I actually saw the cabins that they looked the same! DUH what was I expecting ?????
Advantages: SEE IT ALL WITHOUT THE PACKING & UNPACKING Disadvantages: EXPANDING WAISTLINES
We have cruised with Page and Moy twice. Each time we travelled on the same ship, which was called the Ocean Majesty.
This ship is a Greek liner and, although the nationalities are varied, the crew is predominantly Greek. It can carry just over 550 passengers and has a crew of about 250. One has specific cabin crew, table waiters and wine waiters. There are also numerous bar staff, an entertainment crew, a medical centre as well as the very important ... ...been able to give the reader a flavour of a cruise on the Ocean Majesty with Page and Moy. I have heard it said that once one has had experience of a cruise no other holiday would be quite the same again. I am inclined to agree with this statement. ...

...from my first holiday with Page and Moy and I would have to say, bearing in mind the logistics required for a lengthy tour, there is much to praise. In fact I only booked with this operator after receiving a number of recommendations but remained fearful of what I might find. Not to put to fine a point on it I feel I could justifiably recommend them to anyone and I did find it necessary to write to them on my return to hand out praise where it was ... ...think holiday companies do seek perfection. So my praise was accompanied by notes on where I felt improvements could be made at little or no cost and details of those little irritations which can be avoided. I thought this would be seen as constructive. Unfortunately I received a tatty response which was unecessarily defensive and full of cliches from a well-trodden word processor. Sad end really. But great holiday. ...

For two months I heard nothing from Page and Moy, I thought this was a bit strange but then I don't know much about booking coach trips. ...aboard the Ocean Majesty, to Page & Moy, months ago. They assured me they would "try their hardest" to locate the owner, and reunite the card with them. After simply going through the photos on the card, the response I got back from them was that it was all too hard, and they would simply keep the card on file, until someone came in to claim it. No attempt was made to find the owner/s, and now that they have the card in their possession, Page & Moy ...
