Pak Ou Caves, Ban Pak-Ou

If you're staying in Luang Prabang then the boat trip down river to the Pak Ou caves is well worth the effort and the time. We went down to the jetty in the middle of the town, found a boatman ourselves and very quickly were stepping through the other boats packed with tourists and off on our adventure down river. Its quite a long trip and you can soon find yourself falling asleep under the sun so take care. Once you arrive at the caves you can expolore the shelves of tiny Buddha statues which fill every last nook and cranny. There is also a path which leads off to the side and up over the back of the cave which is well worth taking, if only to exercise your legs before the long boat journey back.
