My visit to Pakistan

Advantages: Theres always something to do
Disadvantages: Poverty

I went to Pakistan in July/August time last year. It was such a fab experience as I got to meet all my immediate family there are get to spend time sight seeing all the natural beauty there is available. The weather there was absolutely hot! It made me sweat so much but because the area in Pakistan is not as damp over here and the summer weather is very warm, body odour is not a question. It doesn't even happen. You just sweat as if you are in a ...
...The currency in Pakistan compared to U.K. is approximately £1 is 100 Rs therefore things in Pakistan are fairly cheap. This gives me the advantage to spend a lot of money on clothes jewellery etc. I actually go crazy on shopping, I bought an artificial set which filled the whole of my neck and was a very traditional Pakistani style for only 200Rs that is £2. Even clothes in Pakistan cost from 50p upwards which is great/ Alongside this travel expenses ...

Murree - Cool Get away

Advantages: Very cool, nice views, horse rides
Disadvantages: Faulty toilets and chairlifts

Murree is a great place to visit in Pakistan, it is located approximately 50 km North-East of Pakistan. It will take about an hour to reach Murree from Islamabad. 50 km in the U.K is not a lot, but in Pakistan due to the large amounts of Traffic congestion it will take longer than usual. The traffic congestion is so bad that you will a lot of the time about 4 lanes of traveling cars on a 3 lane road. Another thing you have to take into account is ...
...because in these colder seasons Murree is extremely cold and virtually impossible to go there for tourism purposes. The late spring and summer seasons are the best for tourists looking for a cool get away from the intense heat of ground level Pakistan. Murree is one of the most popular summer destinations in Pakistan. In the summer the weather conditions are ideal for most, it is neither too hot nor too cold. On average it is about 12-16 degrees ...

Lahore - The jewel of the empire

Advantages: Almost everything is very cheap
Disadvantages: Customs & Hotel rates

I try to visit Lahore about once a year, we have family there but I really don't like staying with them - I always feel like a burden. This year I thought about staying at one of the fine hotels in the city, including the Avari, Pearl Continental ot Holiday Inn. I was quite surpised at the prices for these hotels, I mean sinlge would be costing me upwards of 50pounds a night, I know people there who don't earn that in a month! Needless to say, i ...
...'stash' which isnt' too bad but it still annoyes me. Lahore is an awsome city for shopping, culture and food - I know i didn't mention culture but i didn't get a chance to see much this year, I will follow this review up after my next trip there. ...

Karachi - The Heart of Pakistan

Advantages: It's a fun, relaxing place to visit; with alot of culture and history running through it.
Disadvantages: Its a high-security area, and is home to alot of terrorise bombings and attacks.

I have been to Karachi numerous times on account of visiting relativs. If your used to having fun, you'll find alot to do. Since karachi is home to alot of people, ranging from the utterly poor to the raging rich, the areas and districts in karachi are built and fitted with entertainment accordingly. If you are a rescue worker or on a help mission, visiting the shambles and poor areas of the city will warm your heart. The satisfaction of shaking ...
...parties, fashion-shows and dinners the karachi elite host almost everynight. If you're into food and eating out; karachi will definately not disappoint you. Its home to resteraunts specialising in thai, italian, chinese, japanese and lebanese cuisines amongst a million others. Also, there are alot of historical and cultural locations to visit. There is the Quaid's mausoleum, that is a beautifully built building with breathtaking gardens surrounding ...

The houses are massive, the public buildings are very elegant and the shopping bazaars are well organised. The scenic view points show the cities beauty to the max. Although an Islamic country Pakistan does have churches mainly found in the capital towns where many Europeans ...
