...of Venice from the top. Bovolo by the way means snail.
The story goes that the person who owned the palace asked the builder to build him a staircase after the palace was practically finished. He went away and left the builder to it. Instead of wrecking the place to put in the staircase the builder decided to build the staircase on the outside of the building resulting in this magnificent wonder. Despite the over priced Gondoliers plying their trade many of them were idle I suspect because of their pricing. They were hanging around the bridges waiting for tourists to take a ride. I tend to think of them as being a bit too touristy and a half hour trip on one can cost approximately 100 Euros. I think...

...A well situated hotel in lido Venice, 5 minutes from the Boat station and 15 minutes to St.Mark´s Venice.
Very close to the Beach and the Palazzodel Cinema, where the Film festival take place.
The staff is very welcoming and pleasant, breakfast quite good, specially in summer in the private Garden.
In summer days was quite amazing just take a bike given from the hotel and ride all the island long take a long drink on the way and coming back long the Venice lagoon in the light of the sunset, just heaven!
In the evening there are many restaurants close to the hotel, all reacheble by feet, where we found good fish food in venetial style.
Rate quite average, I´ve booked through [http://www.lidodivenezia.it Lido Venice Hotel]...

As members of a vacation club ( it was then Sunterra now Diamon Resorts) we had the opportunity for a weeks break for relatively few points at the Sahara Sunset in Benalmadea Costa, as we could get Easy Jet airfairs to Malaga for a very low price we decided to try it.
We have been three times more since then - so needless to say I was not disappointed.
Benalmadena is only 15 kilometers from Malaga Airport, car hire is easily obtainable but it is only 25 euros for a taxi from the airport and there are plenty of excursions and good public transport available in the resort. It is set on the Costa del Sol between...
