Historias Minimas (minimal stories) is a beautiful film from 2003 set in Argentinean Patagonia that has been somewhat overlooked in the face of popular Spanish language films released in the past decade.
The story follows 3 people on their separate but interweaving trips to San Julian the regional capital from their rural villages, but if that premise sounds a little overused then it isn't fair to describe the film as such. Essentially this is a film about nothing and also about everything. This self titled album is the first full album released in 2006 by the Swansea based band The Storys.
The band are a six piece who's style is probably best described as a mix of soft rock a bit like a modern day version of The Eagles play and gentle country.
The group share lead vocal duties but the main front man is Steve Balsamo is truly superb having had the lead role in Jesus Christ Superstar in the West End and has a massive vocal range (have a look on YouTube)
The album has 11 tracks with a total running time of 43 minutes. The album open up with a soft acoustic guitar based ballad 'I believe in love' with the message of how enduring love. The next track 'Only you can save me' is a mix of electric and acoustic guitar with a slightly quicker tempo, the lyrics still soft tell the longing of wanting to be with someone ...

As mentioned in my review of their first self titled album The Storys are a 6 piece band which started in South Wales and have since gone on to bigger things including opening shows for Elton John. Their style is a little hard to describe but to give an idea 'soft rock' with just a touch of country like a modern take of The Eagles.

Their second and latest album, Town Beyond The Trees, was released early in 2008 and has 10 tracks on it. Most of the clientele is Greek, drawn by the subtle cuisine and lack of tourists. The marinated salmon and capers are worthy of the finest Dublin restaurant, and the broccoli with oil, mustard, and roasted almonds is inspired.
