Carrying on from my Australian Hotel Reviews.
Cairns Palm Royale Good Prices during off peak season more expensive like anything during peak- Search on Hotel Supermarket.

Cairns is one of those places that you will always remember, but thats another review in itself.
Palm Royale in Cairns is a good resort offering a lovely setting and great and close amenities.
It offers very spacious rooms not done out to the best but slight 80's feel. The exterior of the hotel, you could imagine it to of once been a very prestigious hotel and it still is highly seen as that but needs a slight revamp to general things like Paint work etc..
There are two pools beautiful one with lengths and one with a slightly oriental feel with a pool temperature jacuzzi towering above it. you feel slightly as if you are in the Jungle..
The view from the hotel by the pool you can see the beautiful mountains with mist shrouding the trees and the sun setting, beautiful.
There is a free bus that takes you down to Cairns Town and stops at 3 places every hour but may of changed until 6pm and different over lunch time. NOTE This is great as not many hotels offer this service!! only one other I know of that being Colonial resort that share the same bus as Palm Royale.
The staff are extremely friendly and helpful and offer advice on sunburn, trips, currency etc.
Taxis are called from reception and within minutes there at the receptions. £5 approx. to get to centre of town.
Excursion trips pick you up from a specially allocated bus stop outside.
There is food and a shopping centre over the road offering shopping and clothes shopping. So essentials for trips and food two minutes walk away which is great!!
They have a pool side restaurant and a upper tiered restaurant offering more expensive stylish food.
The bar and restaurant by the pool offer great service and nice food.! very big portions!!! and not badly priced.
Disadvantages Doors to rooms have a slight gap underneath allowing elements and little creatures of DOOM.. to get in.. Mosquitoes. but your not going to get away from that. This depends on what time of year you go. Dose yourself up on repellent before you got to bed.
Breakfast is extremely expensive!! £21 ozzy dollars per full english. which was equiv to £11 pounds british! On the menu they have a short selection but we found that you could actually ask for what you wanted and not worry about having to buy that. Or cheeky just buy one breakfast and share it between two of you and keep going up for seconds.
Breakfast can be Manic! and people can be temperamental. No entertainment in Nov (off Peak) but some during the summer months. So head down town. Alot of fun down there.
You can only take £100 oz dollars out in travelers cheques within the resort no more! per person. Quite annoying.
Dont book trips through the hotel go down town as there prices are more competitive this also relates to any hotel in Cairns. Book downtown!
No cigarette machine on site go to the supermarket before it closes or no Cigarettes.
I really liked this resort and spent 2 weeks here. I defiantly recommend it for couples off peak time! as its quiet and lovely!! and people with kids in peak as it gets extremely busy but there are great bunch of people and are always at your beck and call!
Enjoy Cairns and relax with this Resort for not much money per night.
