There are 2 types of arrival/departure at Palma International Airport. (PMI)
1. Walkway off into terminal
2. Walk down steps of plane and get bus to terminal.
You don't get a choice by the way, it depends on airline as far as I can gather so best check with your airline before you fly so you can be prepared.
~EXPERIENCE 1 (WALKWAY)~
If travelling with children and you have requested that your buggy meets you at the aircraft door - this is not going to happen! It's physically impossible for them to get buggy to you!
The walk between walkway and immigration is VERY VERY long - you'll think you'll reach the sea before you reach intended destination. There are moving walkways but these don't generally mix well with young children.
If carrying twin bubbas as well as trying to keep an eye on a 4 year old be prepared to be absolutely shattered by the time you reach immigration and baggage reclaim.
~EXPERIENCE 2 (BUS)~
If travelling with children and you have requested that your buggy meets you at the aircraft door - this is now possible but beware - in the time it takes you to collect the buggy that little bus is as full as a gun and it's standing room only!
The journey to terminal is a little lengthy but when you get off it's just a few steps to immigration and a few more to baggage reclaim.
Baggage Reclaim at PMI is MASSIVE and there are loads of luggage carousels so make sure you get the right one and as there are hoards of flights arriving at the same time be prepared to wait.
There are plenty of loos in this area - if travelling to resorts such as Cala Bona/Sa Coma/Alcudia etc make sure you go to the loo before you leave baggage reclaim as you will have at least 90 minutes on your coach before drop off.
For the return leg - well either way you have a walk ahead of you, tho' generally not as long to your departure gate. If you bussed it in you'll get another bus out to the aircraft.

Duskmaiden - this is actually a review of the AIRPORT (as are all other reviews in this section)!
It would be a tad silly to go on about the sity of Palma, lovely buildings, the cathedral, market etc when none of them can actually be seen from inside the airport ;o)

Palma is a massive airport and very busy. It needs to be the size it is and as airports go it's a good one so long as you don't mind walking :o)
