Panorama Hotel, Venice

Advantages: Great hotel, great location?
Disadvantages: Perhaps too big!

...Last year in the Sunday supplements I read about the new Hilton Hotel that had just opened in Venice and they had comments on the wonderful views and the roof terrace. As we had booked to visit Venice in March of this year, and had been several times before this was an opportunity to see another view of Venice from a different area. I had read that it is a large hotel and thinking about Venice and the size it must be out of the main Venice tourist area, we had not seen any building work on that scale the year before. The Hilton hotel is in the Giudecca area of Venice away from St. Mark's Square. We had to catch a water bus from San Zaccaria, over to Zitelle and then just wondered along until we arrived at the Hilton which is the other end of Giudecca Island. Advantages: Centrally located, not expensive

...This hotel has a great location, right in the middle of Harburg. There is a restaurant and bar on the ground floor, also shoe cleaning services on each floor, but the main point I want to make is the location. This hotel is probably the best priced 4 star hotel you will find in the heart of Harburg. I paid 61 Euros for one night for a room with two single beds in it. There is a fridge in the room with some items in it that are not that expensive. I was surprised that the prices for them was more or less the same as what they are at grocery stores nearby. Breakfast is 12 Euros but I did not have breakfast.... Read review

...Panorama. Monday 12th May 2008. 8.30pm-9.00pm. Tested To Destruction. Vivian White reports on claims that schools in England are given too many tests. Vivian White is a former teacher and has given a honest and clear picture of views on SATS testing in England. This week is England's week for testing Y6 children using SATS. Parents of Y6 children and pupils undertaking these tests are probably feeling relieved that today is over (monday) because the first day of SATS is done. Today Science. Over the next few days they face; Literacy - reading, writing (long paper & short paper), spelling and 2 maths papers (calculator and non- calculator).
